To complete Jar’s light request in Spring Meadows, find Resin in breakable crates beneath the bridge, give it to Jar, shoot the top of its lamp with free aim, then speak to Jar again to claim a Healing Tint Shard.
Where to find Jar
Follow the main route through Spring Meadows toward the Abandoned Expeditioner Camp and its Expedition 81 rest point. Jar is near the Expedition Flag, where a cutscene introduces the request. Guides identify it as the first Nevron side quest encountered during the story. GameTrek’s walkthrough (updated December 23, 2025), PowerPyx (May 21, 2025), and PC Gamer (April 28, 2025) place the encounter in this area.

How to find Resin and light Jar’s lamp
- Go beneath the bridge. Continue along the route past the area with enemies and white flowers, then descend toward the bridge. Take the path underneath it rather than crossing. The Resin is in breakable crates near tree roots, before the next Expedition Flag.
- Break the crates with free aim. Use free aim to shoot the crates and collect the Resin. Guides also describe the stash as near boxes and barrels along the route.
- Return to Jar and hand over the Resin. Talk to Jar and give it the item.
- Shoot the lamp’s top. When Jar asks for a flame, use free aim to target and shoot the top of its lamp or staff.
- Talk to Jar again. Continue the conversation, then speak to Jar once more if needed. The follow-up conversation gives you the reward and completes the interaction.
The quest reward is one Healing Tint Shard, which adds one Healing Tint. The route and reward are described by PC Gamer, PowerPyx, and GameTrek.
Should you attack Jar?
After the request is complete, you can choose to fight Jar. Guides list three Colour of Lumina and one Chroma Catalyst among the optional rewards for attacking. The choice comes down to whether those immediate materials are worth taking the Nevron fight, or whether you want to follow a broader strategy of sparing quest Nevrons.

| Choice | What you get or risk | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Spare Jar | No attack-only materials; keeps Jar spared for the wider Nevron choice. | Players aiming to spare most Nevrons for Blanche’s later reward. |
| Attack Jar | Three Colour of Lumina and one Chroma Catalyst, according to PC Gamer and GameTrek. | Players who prefer the listed immediate materials and accept the optional fight. |
PowerPyx recommends sparing Nevrons overall because Blanche’s later encounter offers a larger Colour of Lumina reward for sparing the majority. Its guide says Chalier is a specific exception that can be killed without counting against Blanche’s reward. This is a wider route strategy, not evidence that attacking Jar by itself permanently forfeits Blanche’s reward.
PC Gamer gives a different, personal recommendation: it considers killing Jar or other quest Nevrons generally worthwhile for extra items. These are competing play-style recommendations, not contradictory facts about the quest. Choose based on whether you value the listed materials now or want to pursue the spare-majority route.
