Do not download a replacement from a random DLL website. The file may have the wrong language, architecture, version, or malicious contents, and placing it in a system folder often leaves the actual broken installation untouched.

Fix 4: Repair Windows component corruption

Use Windows servicing commands when system files are damaged, Windows Update is failing, or several unrelated programs are reporting missing or corrupt Windows components. They are not a substitute for reinstalling one application that owns the missing file.

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Type Command Prompt.
