Jurassic World Evolution 3: How to Increase Dinosaur Comfort

Dinosaur comfort in Jurassic World Evolution 3 depends on species-specific environmental and social needs. Check each animal’s status, population, and group as the enclosure changes.

To increase a dinosaur’s comfort in Jurassic World Evolution 3, check that animal’s displayed needs, then address its environmental requirements and social requirements separately. There is no single habitat recipe that works for every species: the right enclosure and group depend on what the dinosaur’s current information shows.

Check what the dinosaur needs first

Select the dinosaur and open its in-game Dinosaur Guide or status information. Look for unmet environmental and social needs before changing the enclosure. A review by TechRadar describes using on-screen need indicators and adjusting habitat features such as cover and food; treat those as examples, not universal requirements. Use the selected species’ own information to decide what to change.

Frontier Developments’ Park Manager’s Toolbox guidance, published August 21, 2026, identifies “Environmental needs and Social needs” as the two main influences on a species’ enclosure comfort. Its examples focus on semi-aquatic predators, so apply the broad distinction across your checks, but not any one species’ requirements to another.

Adjust the habitat to meet environmental needs

Use the unmet environmental items in the dinosaur’s information as your checklist. Add or adjust the specific surroundings, cover, or food the game indicates, then inspect the status again. Avoid copying another species’ enclosure setup: the exact needs vary, and no complete official species-by-species requirements list is established here.

Check population and social grouping

Count the whole group

Compare the enclosure’s current population with the selected species’ preferred population. Frontier recommends checking the ideal population before introducing animals; its “15 Spinosaurus in a tiny space” line is a humorous warning, not a recommended target or a general population rule.

Include juveniles in your planning. Babies increase the enclosure’s population, and animals that mature can change whether the group remains suitable. Revisit the population after births and as juveniles grow.

Check compatibility and sex composition

Do not assume that species can safely share an enclosure, or that every group of one species will suit every other. Frontier notes that some species coexist peacefully, while its Spinosaurus example says multiple adult males can cause irritation or aggression even when juveniles are tolerated. That is a species-specific example, not a rule for all dinosaurs. Use the game’s social information to identify a problem and regroup or separate animals when needed.

Recheck comfort after changes

  1. Select the dinosaur and note which environmental and social needs are unmet.
  2. Change the enclosure to address the environmental needs shown for that species.
  3. Check the current population against the species’ preferred group size, counting juveniles.
  4. Review compatibility and any relevant sex-composition needs; separate or regroup animals if the game indicates a mismatch.
  5. Open the status information again after habitat changes, introductions, births, and maturation to see whether the animal’s current needs are satisfied.

Comfort depends on the enclosure and the animals currently in it, so reassessment matters whenever either changes. No universal comfort percentage or recovery time is established for every species.
