Wie funktionieren Mods auf der PS5?
Mod-Unterstützung ist keine systemweite PS5-Funktion. Das jeweilige Spiel muss selbst eine offizielle Konsolenoberfläche für Mods oder vergleichbare Inhalte bereitstellen. Fehlt diese Funktion, lassen sich nicht einfach Mod-Dateien von einer Website auf die Konsole kopieren und dort nutzen.
Wichtig ist die Unterscheidung zwischen offiziellen Inhalten, die ein Spiel über sein eigenes Menü anbietet, und externen, nicht autorisierten Mod-Dateien. PlayStations Softwarebedingungen untersagen nicht autorisierte Mods sowie das Umgehen von Sicherheits-, Verschlüsselungs- oder Authentifizierungsmechanismen. Das ist kein pauschales Verbot von Creations, die ein Spiel offiziell bereitstellt.
Fallout 4: Creations auf der PS5 nutzen
Fallout 4 ist ein bestätigtes PS5-Beispiel. Bethesda Game Studios schrieb am 10. November 2025, dass Besitzer der Anniversary Edition und früherer Versionen von Fallout 4 Zugriff auf das In-Game-Creations-Menü haben. Bethesda beschreibt das Menü als Möglichkeit, Inhalte zu entdecken und herunterzuladen.

- Aktualisiere Fallout 4 und starte das Spiel auf der PS5.
- Öffne das im Spiel angebotene Creations-Menü.
- Sieh dir die verfügbaren Inhalte und ihre Beschreibungen an und wähle aus, was du herunterladen möchtest.
- Prüfe vor dem Herunterladen, ob eine Creation kostenlos ist oder Creation Credits kostet. Inhalt und Verfügbarkeit können sich je nach Region, Titel und Plattform unterscheiden.
Für Fallout 4 auf PS5 erhöhte Bethesda den Creations-Speicher mit einem Update vom 27. Mai 2026 auf ungefähr 15 GB. Das ist ein spielspezifischer Wert und keine allgemeine Speichergrenze für PS5-Mods.
Funktionieren PC-Mods oder beliebige Dateien?
Nein, nicht einfach so. Die offiziellen Creations im Spiel sind nicht dasselbe wie beliebige Mod-Dateien für den PC. Installiere keine externen Dateien und befolge keine Anleitung, die verlangt, die Konsolensicherheit zu umgehen: PlayStations Bedingungen untersagen nicht autorisierte Modifikationen und das Umgehen von Sicherheitsmechanismen.

Was ist mit PS4-Spielen und älteren Mod-Regeln?
Bethesdas Ankündigung vom 4. Oktober 2016 behandelte Mods für Skyrim Special Edition und Fallout 4 auf der PS4. Damals konnten Nutzer keine externen Assets für PS4-Mods hochladen, sondern nur Assets verwenden, die bereits im Spiel enthalten waren. Diese historische, plattformbezogene Regel belegt nicht den heutigen Funktionsumfang jedes PS5-Spiels.
Auch die Abwärtskompatibilität garantiert keine unveränderte Mod-Erfahrung. PlayStation zufolge ist die große Mehrheit der mehr als 4.000 PS4-Spiele auf PS5 spielbar; zugleich können bei einzelnen Spielen Funktionen fehlen oder unerwartetes Verhalten auftreten. Ob ein PS4-Spiel samt Mod-Funktion auf PS5 wie gewünscht läuft, hängt daher vom konkreten Spiel ab.

Ältere Bethesda-Speicherangaben von 5 GB für Skyrim Special Edition und 2 GB für Fallout 4 beziehen sich auf PS4. Sie sind keine aktuellen PS5-Grenzen. Für den aktuellen PS5-Creations-Speicher bei Fallout 4 gilt stattdessen Bethesdas Angabe von ungefähr 15 GB aus dem Update vom 27. Mai 2026.

Das muss für jedes Spiel einzeln geprüft werden. Bethesda bestätigt hier die Creations-Funktion für Fallout 4. Aus älteren PS4-Mod-Angeboten oder der Abwärtskompatibilität lässt sich nicht ableiten, dass jedes dieser Spiele dieselben Funktionen auf der PS5 hat. Für Skyrim ist damit kein aktueller PS5-Unterstützungsumfang belegt.
