For Kansas football player availability, use the Big 12 Conference’s official reporting portal—not a third-party injury list. The Big 12 says football reports begin three days before a game, are posted at 9 p.m. Central Time, and culminate in a final report 90 minutes before kickoff. Check the latest report close to game time: a status can change, and a designation does not reveal a diagnosis or guarantee playing time.
Where to find Kansas football availability reports
Start at the Big 12 Football Player Availability Reporting page. Follow its link to current reports, or use its archive links for previous reports. The Big 12 Conference said in its August 13, 2025 announcement that “All reports will be housed exclusively at Big12Sports.com.”

The Kansas Athletics football page is useful for the team schedule, news, and media resources, but it is not a substitute for the conference’s official availability report. A coach or player appearance can provide on-record context; use the Big 12 report for the official game-status designation.

The Big 12’s published policy calls for daily football submissions beginning three days before each game, with updates posted at 9 p.m. CT. Its August 2025 announcement says the final report is issued 90 minutes before kickoff. These are conference-published timings; the report for a particular game is the place to confirm what has actually been posted.

- Open the Big 12 football reporting portal and select the current report.
- Find the Kansas game, then note the report’s date and time and whether it is a weekly update or the game-day report.
- Read the designation in the context of that report’s timing. A weekly category and a game-day category are not interchangeable.
- Check the portal again near kickoff for the latest official update.
Reports are game-specific. Do not treat an old report or a status posted for another game as the current answer for Kansas’s next matchup.
What the Big 12 status labels mean
The conference policy lists these categories for initial reports. The percentages below are the Big 12’s definitions of its labels, not independently verified forecasts or clinical probabilities.

The percentages are policy category definitions. They are not injury-rate statistics, a guarantee of participation, or evidence that a player has a particular diagnosis.
Game-day designations
The Big 12 lists three game-day categories: available, game time decision, and out. “Game time decision” means coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the player during pregame warmups before deciding whether the player can participate. The policy does not assign a chance-to-play percentage to that game-day label.

What a report can—and cannot—tell you
An “out” designation does not necessarily mean a player is injured: the Big 12 definition also covers non-injury reasons. Availability status alone does not establish a diagnosis, severity, or recovery timeline. Likewise, a player listed as available may participate without receiving a particular role or amount of playing time. The report addresses expected ability to participate in that game, not performance or usage.
For additional explanation, look for a Kansas Athletics announcement or attributable comments from a coach or player. Keep that context distinct from the conference’s official status label; a media appearance does not replace the report.

- “What is the official status for this game?” Use the Big 12’s current football report.
- “What does this designation mean, and when are reports scheduled?” Consult the Big 12’s Student-Athlete Availability Reporting policy.
- “When and where does Kansas play, and what has the team announced?” Check Kansas Athletics football, then return to the conference portal for game availability.

The accessible policy-page wording summarized above may not reflect any changes in that revision, so consult the live policy and report pages when checking a current game.
