If a Kansas football player is out, Kansas Athletics’ published ticket policy does not list that absence as grounds for a refund or exchange. Tickets bought from the Kansas Athletic Ticket Office are described as non-refundable and non-exchangeable, with sales final. You can ask about an exception, but the policy makes approval discretionary rather than guaranteed.
What Kansas Athletics’ policy says
The Kansas Athletics Ticket Office: Policies page states: “All tickets ordered from the Kansas Athletic Ticket Office are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. All sales are final.” It also says refunds or exchanges will not be made because a game’s time or date changes. The policy does not name an individual player’s absence as an exception.

The policy does allow for unusual circumstances to warrant a deviation. A refund request requires approval from the Director of Ticket Operations, so this language is not a promise that a roster change—or any other particular circumstance—will qualify.
Check who sold your ticket
Start with the seller and the terms attached to your purchase. The Kansas Athletics Season Ticket Policies warn that tickets acquired from other sources may be lost, stolen, or counterfeit and may not be honored. Those terms do not establish the refund or exchange rules of a resale platform or private seller. For a ticket bought elsewhere, check that seller’s policy and contact the seller directly; do not assume Kansas Athletics’ ticket-office policy governs the resale transaction.

Separate a player absence from other ticket situations
- Player unavailable: The ticket-office policy does not identify a player being out as a refund or exchange exception.
- Game time or date changes: The policy says these changes do not qualify for a refund or exchange.
- Kansas Athletics revokes a ticket: Season-ticket terms discuss Kansas Athletics’ own revocation powers and refund treatment in those circumstances. That is distinct from a buyer asking for a refund because a player is unavailable; review the terms for your ticket type and situation.
How to ask about an exception
- Gather your purchase details. Have the ticket or order information available, and identify whether it is a single-game or season ticket and who sold it.
- Contact Kansas Athletics through its official ticket page. The Kansas Athletics Tickets page lists 785-864-3141 and 800-34-HAWKS (42957).
- Describe the specific reason and ask what applies. Ask whether an exception can be considered for your purchase, what process applies, and whether documentation is needed. A request involving a player’s absence is not an assured exception under the published policy.
- Wait for an authorized decision. The policy requires Director of Ticket Operations approval for refund requests. Do not treat a request or conversation as confirmation of a refund or exchange until Kansas Athletics confirms the outcome.
