Its appeal is less about mastering tough puzzles than exploring an unusual world and reading its story through images and movement.
What is Keeper about?
Developed by Double Fine Productions and led by creative director Lee Petty, Keeper follows a long-forgotten lighthouse that awakens and begins walking. A spirited seabird named Twig joins it on a journey through a post-human island world toward a distant mountain. How does Keeper play?
Reviews describe a mix of exploration, platforming, and puzzle-solving. The central draw is the strange setting and the experience of discovering its details, rather than a sequence of demanding brainteasers. TechRadar characterized the puzzles as not especially taxing and reported no failstate; that points to a low-pressure experience, not a guarantee that every moment is effortless. The result is a game whose visual hook—the unlikely sight of a walking lighthouse—is also its clearest promise. If you enjoy absorbing an unfamiliar world and interpreting visual storytelling, its restrained guidance may be part of the appeal. If you want frequent dialogue, explicit exposition, or puzzles that test your logic, the same choices may leave you wanting more.
Is Keeper a hard puzzle game?
Based on the reviews, no: Keeper is better understood as a gentle adventure with puzzles and platforming than as a serious puzzle challenge. The available descriptions emphasize atmosphere and discovery over difficult problem-solving. That makes it a more natural fit for players who want to explore at a relaxed pace than for those seeking a demanding puzzle game.

Where can you play Keeper?
At the October 17, 2025 launch announcement, Xbox listed Keeper for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, and Steam, and said it would be playable on day one through Game Pass. Those are launch-announcement details, not confirmation of current regional availability or continued Game Pass inclusion. Check your local storefront or Game Pass catalog for current status. - Check before buying or subscribing if your decision depends on today’s price, storefront availability, or Game Pass access, since those can vary by date and region.
