Ken Kaneki is Dead by Daylight’s Killer, The Ghoul, introduced in the Tokyo Ghoul chapter. His central play pattern is to use Kagune Leap to close distance, connect a chained second leap with a healthy Survivor to apply a Kagune Mark, then use Enraged Mode to keep pressure on the team. Behaviour Interactive rates his difficulty Medium.
How The Ghoul’s power works
The Ghoul’s power, One-Eyed Terror, is built around Kagune Leap. He charges and launches his tentacles, which attach to vertical surfaces and propel him forward. A second leap can be chained after the first, giving him a fast way to cross space and approach a target. The official character page describes the chain as a way to traverse the map with heightened speed: The Ghoul character page.
Set up the second leap
The key payoff is the second leap connecting with a healthy Survivor. That hit triggers a grab attack, inflicts Deep Wounds, applies a Kagune Mark, and starts Enraged Mode. In practice, treat the first leap as your approach and the second as the commitment: choose a route that brings you close enough to land the follow-up rather than spending both leaps simply to cover distance.
Use terrain deliberately
Because the tentacles attach to vertical surfaces, your leap path depends on the map geometry. Look for surfaces that let you redirect or carry momentum toward the Survivor, and avoid committing to a line that leaves the second leap without a useful target. The power is both a movement tool and a hit setup; its value comes from combining the two.

What Enraged Mode changes
While at least one Survivor has a Kagune Mark, The Ghoul can perform up to three consecutive Kagune Leaps and vault more quickly. This gives him a stronger pursuit sequence after he has earned the mark, but the mode is tied to that mark rather than being a permanent state.
- A marked Survivor loses the Kagune Mark by fully mending or being downed.
- When no Survivors remain marked, a brief countdown ends Enraged Mode.
- The 8.6.0 update notes specify that the countdown pauses while The Ghoul is carrying a Survivor; this is a version-specific detail, not a substitute for checking the current in-game description.
Use the extra leap chain to maintain pressure while the mark is active. If the marked Survivor is close to fully mending, consider whether continuing the chase is more valuable than switching to another target; completing the mend removes the mark and cuts off the mode’s condition.

The Ghoul’s unique perks
The Ghoul has three unique perks: Hex: Nothing But Misery, Forever Entwined, and None Are Free. Their exact numerical effects can change, so check the current in-game perk descriptions for values and durations before building around a precise threshold.
Hex: Nothing But Misery
This perk turns a Dull Totem into a Hex after Survivors have taken a set number of damage events. While the Hex is active, Survivors hit by a Basic Attack are briefly Hindered. It offers a payoff for accumulating damage, but its effect depends on the Hex remaining active.

Forever Entwined

None Are Free
None Are Free gains up to four tokens as Survivors are hooked for the first time. After generators are completed, it blocks windows and upright pallets for a duration. Its trigger arrives late, so it is most relevant when a match reaches the endgame. The character page describes its first-hook token condition; consult the in-game text for the current blocking duration and other exact values.

What to remember in a match
- Use Kagune Leap to approach through map geometry, then reserve the chained leap for a realistic hit opportunity.
- Connect the second leap with a healthy Survivor to trigger the grab, Deep Wounds, Kagune Mark, and Enraged Mode.
- While the mark remains, use the additional leap chain and faster vaulting to sustain pursuit; a full mend or down removes the mark.
- Read the current in-game perk text for exact values, since the official character page, launch announcement, and versioned update notes do not provide one guaranteed current numerical spec for every perk.
