Killer Frequency is a story-led first-person horror-comedy game about a late-night radio host trying to guide callers through deadly situations. Set in 1987 in Gallows Creek, the game puts you on air as DJ Forrest Nash. As callers report being threatened by a mysterious killer, you take their calls, search the radio station for clues, operate equipment and choose what to say. Your decisions can affect whether callers survive.
Team17 describes it as a first-person horror puzzle game. The Nintendo listing highlights its fully voiced cast, retro radio-station exploration, physics-based objects and 80s-inspired soundtrack. Rather than fighting enemies, you solve problems from the station and try to help people at the other end of the line.

The official store presents Killer Frequency as horror comedy. Its threatened callers and fatal outcomes provide genuine tension, while the late-night radio setup and 1980s atmosphere keep it distinct from a relentlessly grim horror game. The blend will land best if you enjoy suspense with some levity rather than sustained, intense fear.
Is Killer Frequency scary?
The ESRB rates the game Teen for Language, Mild Blood and Violence. Its content description says some choices can lead to callers being electrocuted, shot or killed, and describes a scene in which the player character is repeatedly stabbed. The game’s horror is therefore not bloodless, even though the ESRB’s blood descriptor is Mild Blood.

Players sensitive to threats, deaths or stabbing should take the ESRB description into account; those looking for continuous combat or a more intense survival-horror structure may find the experience comparatively light in mechanics.

It may be a weaker fit if you want deep puzzle systems, combat, or a horror experience that stays intensely frightening.
