Complete The Fifth Commandment in Kuttenberg
After reaching Kuttenberg, find Katherine at the Kingfisher Inn and accept The Fifth Commandment. Complete the murder investigation and its conclusion. The guides differ on whether Katherine must take revenge on the culprit: the dedicated route guide says handing the culprit to the bailiff does not automatically block the romance, while GameSpot recommends staying on good terms. Start and finish The Stalker during The Lion’s Den
After the bathhouse sequence in Sigismund’s camp, speak with Katherine and ask what is troubling her. If that conversation option is not available yet, continue the camp investigation and return after Musa’s trial. Start and complete The Stalker before completing The Lion’s Den; the dedicated route guide reports that Katherine leaves camp afterward, making her task unavailable.

Resolve Chakan and report back to Katherine
Katherine gives Henry a shoe that Mutt can track to find Chakan. If you are not using Mutt, the guide says to watch near Katherine’s tent at night. The listed ways to resolve the confrontation are passing a Speech or intimidation check, paying 200 groschen in-game, or winning an unarmed fight. Whatever approach you take, return to Katherine and report the result so The Stalker closes.

Choose the heart-marked response during Hunger and Despair
Much later, during Hunger and Despair, ask Jan Zizka about Katherine’s past after the attackers are defeated. Then find Katherine at the makeshift infirmary and choose “I’ll bring help, and everything will be alright again.” The route guide says this response should display a heart icon.

Interact with the rampart bedding
After the conversation, continue to the ramparts. When the objective allows it, interact with the bedding or rest at the makeshift bed to trigger the scene. The heart dialogue may not start the encounter immediately; the rampart interaction is part of the reported route.

Katherine heart dialogue absent: what to check
If the heart-marked infirmary response is missing, check the required steps in order:
- Confirm that The Fifth Commandment is complete.
- Confirm that you confronted Chakan and reported back to Katherine, closing The Stalker.
- During Hunger and Despair, ask Zizka about Katherine’s past before speaking to her at the infirmary.
- After choosing the heart response, go to the ramparts and interact with the bedding if the scene does not begin immediately.
These are troubleshooting steps reported by the guide, not a guarantee for every game build or save.

Must Katherine kill Mandelina?
No source establishes revenge as mandatory. The dedicated Katherine route guide says the romance can remain available if Henry hands the culprit to the bailiff; GameSpot’s broader guide recommends staying on good terms but does not identify revenge as a required flag. Complete the quest and make the choice you prefer rather than treating revenge as a confirmed romance requirement.

The dedicated route guide reports that Katherine’s and Hans’s final scenes compete during the Suchdol farewell: choosing Hans advances past Katherine’s encounter. It also says an earlier relationship does not by itself prevent choosing Katherine at the farewell. Gamer Guides places both characters’ scenes in the same rest sequence. Gamer Guides’ Hunger and Despair walkthrough describes that sequence.
