How to start The Mouth of Hell
Travel to Old Kutna in the Kuttenberg region and speak with Father Marian at the farm where a disturbance is underway. PowerPyx lists completion of main quest 14, “Speak of the Devil,” as a prerequisite; Gamer Guides places the quest after Kuttenberg becomes explorable. Old Kutna is northwest of Kuttenberg city, according to Gamer Guides’ walkthrough. The mine is west of Old Kutna.

How to get through the mine after Henry loses his gear
Henry loses his inventory during the mine sequence. Keep moving through the tunnels and use the torch to see more clearly. The route contains Saviour Schnapps, a hunting sword and a lockpick, which can help while you are separated from your normal equipment.

Find the Knight’s Contract
- Search for the small chest with a medium-difficulty lock.
- Use the lockpick you found in the mine to open it.
- Take and read the Knight’s Contract before leaving the mine. Its wording gives you the key dialogue for avoiding an immediate fight with Taras Mura.
Gamer Guides reports 276 Groschen in this chest; PowerPyx describes the contents as a couple hundred Groschen. Treat the exact chest amount as guide-reported, not a guaranteed universal value. Gamer Guides says its author opened the medium lock with Speech level 20, but that is not an established minimum requirement.
How to stop Taras Mura from attacking
When you meet Taras, use the contract’s wording and agree to take over his duty. Gamer Guides reports that Taras then escorts Henry to his gear and out of the mine. If you do not use this route, PowerPyx describes another way to recover your belongings and leave, though the guides do not give the same level of detail for that alternative.
How to resolve the villagers’ dispute peacefully
- Outside, speak to the people involved in the dispute and choose “This contract explains everything.”
- Pass the Speech check with a conciliatory response. Gamer Guides gives “Everyone made mistakes, but no one meant any harm.” as a successful example.
- With the check passed, the dispute can end without violence, and Father Marian pays a reported 475 Groschen.
The reported 475-Groschen reward for the peaceful outcome appears in both PowerPyx’s 2025 guide and Gamer Guides’ guide, released in 2025 and updated in 2026. These are third-party walkthrough reports, not official game documentation.
What happens if the Speech check fails?
If the check fails or you choose a non-conciliatory response, Taras and the villagers may fight. You can side with either party. PowerPyx says the reward can vary on this route, up to 475 Groschen; it does not establish one fixed payout for every conflict outcome.
