Combat Training I becomes available after Main Quest 5, Wedding Crashers. The steps below follow PowerPyx’s walkthroughs, published February 3, 2025; no patch-specific changes are established.
How to start Combat Training I
After Henry is let out of the stockade during Wedding Crashers, Bara calls out and tells him about Tomcat. Head west of Zhelejow, following the lake to the Nomad Camp. Tomcat is at the fighting area near the north end of camp. These quest-start details are reported in PowerPyx’s Combat Training I walkthrough.

How to complete Combat Training I
- Speak to Tomcat and ask, “Are you good with a sword?”
- Enter the arena. When you are ready, speak to Tomcat to begin the practice.
- Perform the natural combo Tomcat demonstrates: right-left-right or left-right-left. The walkthrough says to complete the combo successfully twice.
- Practice the true combo: up-right-left. Change your aim during the sequence, switching direction before the second swing, and complete the pattern successfully twice.
After the true-combo practice, the quest completes and further combat tutorial information follows. Combat Training II starts automatically. The walkthrough lists the Mittelhaw combo as the reward for Combat Training I.
How to complete Combat Training II
Prepare for Tomcat’s duel
Talk to Tomcat and choose “I challenge you to a duel.” Equip a sword and armor before entering the arena. If Tomcat tells Henry to get armor, leave to find some, then return. These requirements and the quest steps are reported in PowerPyx’s Combat Training II walkthrough.

Win the duel
Follow Tomcat into the arena and speak to him to start the duel. Using the combos taught in Combat Training I is the guide’s recommendation. PowerPyx reports that its duel ended after three or four successful hits; treat that as the guide’s observation, not a guaranteed hit count.
Learn and use the Master Strike
Tomcat teaches the Master Strike by having Henry aim opposite the incoming attack, then attack when the green shield or block prompt appears. Follow his directed practice. To finish the quest, perform the move successfully in combat three times. The walkthrough lists the Master Strike technique as the reward.
