Spoilers for the main quest and its choices. Dancing with the Devil is the 23rd main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Prepare for a substantial battle at Maleshov, decide whether to burn the village, and later choose how to handle Lady Rosa’s hostage situation. If keeping Rosa’s relationship path open matters, do not threaten to burn the tower.
Prepare for the Maleshov assault
The quest begins with Jan Žižka at Devil’s Den. Before you speak with him, make sure Henry is ready for a long combat sequence: the walkthrough recommends strong armor and weapons, bandages, and ranged equipment. A pistole and ammunition are suggested as a useful option, not a quest requirement. [PowerPyx walkthrough, February 3, 2025]

- Speak with Jan Žižka at Devil’s Den.
- Ask what awaits at Maleshov and confirm that Henry is ready. This takes you to the evening meeting.
Fight through the assault on Maleshov
Use ranged weapons against enemy archers when the opportunity presents itself. After the cutscene, defeat the remaining enemies and watch for archers and crossbowmen on platforms. One approach described in the walkthrough is to hang back while your allies engage; how well that works depends on Henry’s equipment and combat style.
Choose whether to burn Maleshov
Dry Devil proposes setting the village on fire to draw castle soldiers away from their positions. This is a separate choice from what happens later at the tower: it puts innocent villagers at risk and has consequences for Henry’s comrades. The available walkthroughs do not establish a complete account of every downstream effect, so do not treat a specific character-survival result as guaranteed.

Speak with Capon and Žižka, then face von Bergow
After the assault, speak with Capon and Žižka. Their initial discussion about negotiating or withdrawing does not change the fact that they proceed to negotiate. Von Bergow reveals that Lady Rosa is with him in the tower, leaving Henry to decide whether to protect her or use the threat of fire to force a surrender.
To protect Rosa and preserve the relationship path
Choose the approach that refuses to put Rosa in danger and attempts a rescue rather than threatening to burn the tower. PowerPyx reports that the negotiation’s skill-check options may fail and still allow the rescue route in its described playthrough. Rescuing or defending Rosa improves her attitude toward Henry and preserves the possibility of the later romance.
If Henry threatens to burn the tower
Bergow surrenders with Rosa, but PowerPyx reports that Rosa becomes angry because Henry was willing to sacrifice her. Choose this route only if the immediate threat matters more to you than her relationship outcome.

The rescue route leads to a fight against the defenders inside. The walkthrough describes gun-wielding enemies in the corridor; use cover and draw opponents into a position where Henry can face them more safely. Once the defenders are defeated, a cutscene resolves the standoff: Bergow surrenders and Rosa is safe. Dancing with the Devil then ends, and the main quest continues with Oratores.
