Separately, Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver announced on June 25, 2026, that the game had sold more than six million copies worldwide. The sales milestone is encouraging news for the game, but it was not caused by the patch.
What Patch 1.5.6 changes
Deep Silver dated Patch 1.5.6 June 25, 2026. Its notes describe a practical input-support update accompanied by fixes and a small in-game novelty—not a major content expansion or a broad performance overhaul. Deep Silver’s news feed lists later announcements, so Patch 1.5.6 should not be described as the game’s latest update as of October 8, 2026.
- Steam Controller support: Players can use the controller as an optional input device; it is not required to play.
- Handheld control-scheme fix: Addresses cases where a handheld device remained on the Xbox control scheme when a mouse and keyboard were connected.
- Hardcore-mode interface fix: Corrects a user-interface glitch.
- Quest fix: Addresses a recruitment requirement involving Mikesh or Kozliek after a visit to the Mysteria Ecclesiae monastery, when the relevant character was dead.
- Small additions: Credits were updated, and a jester may appear outside the Hangman’s Halter Tavern shouting about a strange new game.
What Steam Controller support means for players
The clearest day-to-day change is compatibility with the Steam Controller. That is useful if you prefer that device, but the notes do not claim measured performance gains or report player satisfaction. The other changes address specific bugs or add a brief bit of environmental humor rather than introducing a new questline or substantial gameplay system.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II sales pass six million
In a separate announcement on June 25, 2026, Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver said the game had sold more than six million copies worldwide. That figure is the publishers’ announced milestone, not an independently audited total. Their announcement also cited multiple Game of the Year nominations, including at The Game Awards, and a BAFTA Games Award for Best Narrative. The official publisher news feed carries the announcement.
