Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s console next-gen update launched on February 13, 2026, bringing the game to PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. It targets up to 60 FPS and outputs at 4K, but the game renders natively at 2560×1440 before AMD FSR 1.2 upscales the image to 3840×2160. If you own the PS4 or Xbox One version—including a physical copy—the update is free.
What the next-gen update changes
This is a native current-generation console version of the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance, rather than a claim that the game renders natively at 4K. PLAION lists PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S as supported platforms. Its FAQ describes one optimized experience, not separate quality and performance modes, with a frame-rate target of up to 60 FPS. That is a target, not a guarantee that every scene stays locked at 60.
The official Patch 1.9.7 notes say the graphics use PC Ultra Quality as their baseline, with higher-resolution textures and models, improved graphical features, dynamic resolution, and performance optimizations. The notes also list improved multithreading and asset streaming, changes to culling, and reduced stutters and pop-in, alongside work aimed at demanding scenes and locations. These details explain what “ultra” means here: a visual baseline and asset improvements, not a selectable Ultra preset in a console menu.
What “4K support” means on PS5 and Xbox Series
Patch 1.9.7 specifies native rendering at 2560×1440 (1440p), then upscaling to 3840×2160 (4K) with AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.2. So the accurate description is 4K output through upscaling—not native 4K rendering. The official FAQ separately describes the update as supporting 4K; the patch notes supply the rendering detail.

- Huge realistic open world: majestic castles, wide fields, all rendered in stunning high-end graphics
- Nonlinear Story Solve quests in different ways and then bear the consequences of your decisions.
- Character development: choose your gear, improve your skills and earn new perks
Neither the FAQ nor patch notes establish a fixed frame rate for every scene or a separate resolution mode players can select. The published performance figure is “up to 60 FPS.”
Is the update free for existing owners?
Yes. Anyone who owns the PS4 or Xbox One version can claim the corresponding current-generation update at no extra cost. PLAION says the offer applies to both digital and physical copies. The older version remains playable, and moving to the updated version is optional; owners do not need to buy the game again just to play on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

- Intriguing story based on historical events inspired by the real-world challenge

For new players, the FAQ says the game is available digitally and in physical editions, and identifies the base game, Royal Edition, and DLC collection as affected content. If you are shopping for a copy, check the live regional listing and edition details for Kingdom Come: Deliverance PS5 before buying. Game Pass availability was confirmed for launch day, February 13, 2026; that confirmation alone does not establish current availability. The official FAQ does not confirm PlayStation Plus inclusion.
Can PS4 and Xbox One saves transfer?
Yes. Cross-generation save transfer is supported from PS4 to PS5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series consoles. The publisher describes the feature as save transfer; its materials do not say that progress moves automatically, so follow the transfer process presented for your platform rather than assuming an existing save appears without action.
