For the new native Switch 2 digital release, plan around the US storefront’s 26.9 GB estimate and check the current regional listing and available console storage before installing. Do not confuse it with the Switch Cloud Version
The earlier Nintendo Switch KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version is a separate product. Nintendo lists its client at 77 MB and says an internet connection is required to play. That small download is for the cloud-streaming client; it is not the size of the native Switch 2 release. Nintendo says the Cloud Version is supported on Switch 2 and behaves consistently with Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Cloud Version listing.

Can I change performance settings on Switch 2?
Nintendo lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play modes. The official Nintendo and SQUARE ENIX pages reviewed do not document user-adjustable resolution, frame-rate, graphics-quality, or other performance settings. They also do not establish tested frame rates or performance results, so there is no supported basis here to promise a performance/quality toggle or a particular frame rate.
What is included in HD 2.8?
Nintendo and SQUARE ENIX describe three experiences in the package:
- KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance HD, a full-HD remaster.
- KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover, an HD movie about the Foretellers.
- KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –, a short episode connecting to KINGDOM HEARTS III.
Nintendo positions the title as a lead-in to KINGDOM HEARTS III. Its listing identifies SQUARE ENIX as publisher and developer, single-system play, and support for American English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Nintendo US product listing; SQUARE ENIX collection page.

Is there a physical Switch 2 edition?
Nintendo’s US listing for standalone HD 2.8 is digital. SQUARE ENIX lists a physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition of KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III], a larger bundle containing HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind. That is a physical option for the collection, not a standalone physical edition of HD 2.8. SQUARE ENIX says the collection components are also available individually. The publisher also describes a possible 50% discount on the Switch 2 digital version for eligible owners of certain prior digital versions, including the Switch Cloud Version, PS4, and Xbox One releases; check the publisher and regional storefront terms for current eligibility.
