The leaker called the potential lineup “possibly one of the best” in the series, but named no worlds—and Square Enix canceled the game’s development on May 14, 2025. There is no final lineup to confirm or compare.
What the Missing-Link world leak claimed
ComicBook.com reported on May 12, 2025, that TheGamersJoint had attributed the claim to a beta build from May 2024. The leaker said the game had “beyond 20” worlds and described the possible lineup as “possibly one of the best world lineups in a Kingdom Hearts game.” These were the leaker’s claims and opinion, not figures or an assessment announced by Square Enix. The report named no worlds. It therefore does not establish a roster, a launch count, or the order in which worlds might have appeared. It also relayed the leaker’s prediction that the full count would probably not be available at launch, with additional worlds added over time. That was speculation about a possible live-service plan, not a confirmed release schedule.
Why the beta build does not confirm a final lineup
Square Enix’s official overview scheduled a closed beta for May 2–10, 2024. The company’s terms said beta content might differ from a future version, and that test-play data would not carry over to the official service. Those terms mean a build could not, by itself, establish what a finished game would contain; they do not verify the reported datamine or its world count. See Square Enix’s closed beta overview.

The overview estimated approximately 3,000 participants—about 1,500 on iOS and 1,500 on Android. That was an estimate for the test, not a count of people who ultimately participated. The beta also used smartphone location information. These details describe the historical test, not a released game.

On May 14, 2025, Square Enix announced that it had canceled development. The KINGDOM HEARTS Missing-Link Development Team said it had decided it would be difficult to offer “a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time.” The announcement thanked those who supported and assisted with multiple closed beta tests, said the Kingdom Hearts series would continue, and noted that the team was working on Kingdom Hearts IV.
