No requirement is stated on Nintendo’s game or support pages. The game-specific amiibo are optional figures with documented gameplay functions: scanning can update the Main Menu Figure, unlock first-scan rewards, and let a figure join supported modes as a Figure Player. Figure Players can be trained and customized; rescanning saves their progress. Nintendo lists Kirby & Warp Star with a November 20, 2025 release date. It lists Sword Kirby & Dragoon for November 12, 2026, so check Nintendo’s listing for current availability.
