Koei Tecmo announced two separate Dead or Alive projects at Sony’s February 12, 2026 State of Play: DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round, now available, and a new series game that is in development. The company has not announced the new game’s title, platforms, or release date, so it should not yet be called Dead or Alive 7.

On February 12, 2026, Koei Tecmo America and Team NINJA announced DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round and revealed that a separate new Dead or Alive title was in development. Series producer Yosuke Hayashi said Team NINJA had frequently been asked, “What’s going on with Dead or Alive?” He confirmed work on the latest series title, but the announcement did not name it or specify when or where it would be released. Hayashi’s PlayStation.Blog post
The new Dead or Alive game is still unnamed
The announcement confirms development, not a release plan. It gives no title, platform lineup, or release timing for the new game. Until Koei Tecmo shares those details, there is no official basis for identifying it as Dead or Alive 7 or saying it will launch on any particular console or PC platform.

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is available now

What is included in Last Round?
29 playable characters
The base roster has 29 characters: the original 24 from DEAD OR ALIVE 6 plus Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki, characters previously released as DLC or bonuses. Those five are part of Last Round’s stated roster. Carryover from the original game

Standard edition or free-to-play Core Fighters?
Koei Tecmo offers a paid standard edition and a free-to-play version called Core Fighters. The standard edition includes the Character Unlock Key and Story Unlock Key, according to the official game page. Core Fighters lets players start without buying the standard edition, but its character and story access is more limited.

In its February 2026 announcement, Koei Tecmo said the original DEAD OR ALIVE 6 had sold over 900,000 copies worldwide and that its free-to-play edition had recorded over 8 million downloads. The company did not give a more precise measurement date for the download total.
