The King of Fighters AFK is a mobile RPG built around idle rewards and strategic five-versus-five battles. Fighters continue producing progress while you are away, but battles are not entirely automatic in the strategic sense: team composition and placement affect the result. A stronger roster can still lose if its formation exposes fragile Fighters or fails to use the stage’s requirements.

How summons and Premium Summon work
1. Raise Fighter Summon Level
Ordinary Fighter summons and the other summon activity shown in your client are the route toward Fighter Summon Level 5. The official Premium Summon and Link guide says Premium Summon unlocks at level 5. The guide does not establish a faster shortcut, a guaranteed number of pulls for every account, or a permanent level-up schedule, so follow the progress indicator in your summon screen.
2. Earn and inspect Premium Points
Fighter and Photo Card summons earn Premium Points. Before pulling, open the current details panel and note the cost, the points awarded, the displayed pity or milestone language (if any), and the reward pool. If a banner does not show a value or rule, treat it as unknown rather than assuming it matches another banner.
3. Select a pickup target
Premium Summon lets you select a pickup target, and the official guide says the selected target can be changed. That flexibility is useful when your roster changes: a target that fills your formation today may be less valuable after an event grants you a duplicate or a stronger role. Change the target only after checking the confirmation screen and any lock, cooldown, or cost shown by the live client.
4. Read the reward categories, not just the headline Fighter
The published Premium Summon description includes Supporter/Pet summon boxes, a Legendary Fighter Summon Ticket, Solar/Lunar/Stellar DNA, and growth items such as Fuel, Cushions, Tarot Cards, Souls, and Fighter-related tokens. These are possible categories from the guide, not a guarantee of the current banner’s exact contents or odds. The reward list on your device controls your decision.
When to summon: a practical decision framework
There is no evidence for one permanent “save until X pulls” threshold or one best pickup Fighter for every account. Use a short checklist instead:

- Identify the bottleneck. Is your next loss caused by damage, survivability, control, a missing attribute, or a formation problem? A random upgrade will not necessarily fix the real issue.
- Compare the live banner. Record its cost, listed probability, target Fighter, reward pool, and any guarantee or deadline shown in the details window.
- Check team impact. Prefer a result that improves the five Fighters you can field now or unlocks a clear, near-term upgrade path.
- Check your Link plan. If the pull gives Fighter Origin but your intended Link needs a different DNA attribute, the material may be useful later but not immediately.
- Protect a time-limited opportunity. Event banners and bonuses can end; read the notice for start and end times in your region before deciding to wait.
For a new account, consistency usually beats chasing a single rare result. Make enough pulls to use the system’s guaranteed or milestone benefits only when the displayed terms fit your plan, and stop when additional spending would delay the upgrade that clears your next stage.
Link explained: duplicates, DNA, and rising costs
Link creates a duplicate Fighter by combining Fighter Origin with DNA matching that Fighter’s attribute. The guide identifies Fighter Origin as obtainable through Fighter, Pick-Up Fighter, and Synergy Fighter summons, while Solar, Lunar, and Stellar DNA are described as Premium Summon rewards.
Before attempting a Link
- Open the Link screen and verify the exact Fighter, required Origin amount, matching DNA type, and any other listed material.
- Confirm that the result is a duplicate of a Fighter you can use, not merely a resource conversion that leaves your active formation unchanged.
- Leave a reserve for your next account milestone; spending every Origin and DNA item can stall progression if the next stage requires a broader roster.
Why repeated Links need planning
Each completed Link raises the material cost for the next attempt. That escalating cost means a first Link can be affordable while a second or third is not. Treat Link as a long-term resource sink: compare the immediate stat or roster benefit with the opportunity cost of Premium Summons, growth materials, and event-limited rewards. Do not promise yourself a particular number of Links until the current screen confirms that you can meet the next requirement.
Daily progression routine
The official material describes the major systems but does not publish a complete universal daily checklist or reset timetable. The following routine is a cautious account-management sequence, not a claim that every task is available at every level.

- Collect AFK rewards. Claim accumulated rewards when you log in so the storage or accumulation limit does not waste additional idle time. Read the reward panel for what is actually ready.
- Check notices and events. Open the in-game notice and event screens. Limited summon banners and challenges rotate, and the official forum index shows that new notices continue to appear; an old featured-Fighter recommendation can be obsolete.
- Review summon progress. Check Fighter Summon Level, Premium Points, available tickets, and the current pickup selection. Do not pull until you have read the live cost and reward details.
- Push your main progression. Attempt the highest stage you can clear with a sensible formation. When you lose, change placement or role coverage before spending all resources on a marginal level increase.
- Run available challenges. Inspect Infinity Challenge, Arcade Challenge, and World Boss Challenge. Record the displayed reward and the condition that is blocking you; prioritize the activity whose reward solves that bottleneck.
- Spend growth materials deliberately. Upgrade the Fighters that are in your active formation or are required for the next unlock. Avoid spreading scarce items across a bench of untested characters.
- Recheck before logging out. Confirm that AFK collection, event claims, and any time-limited attempt have been completed. The live client—not a static guide—determines whether a task has reset.
Challenge modes and how to use them
Infinity Challenge
Each Infinity Challenge stage has unique buffs. Its screen shows the current floor, upcoming enemies, and available rewards. Read those three elements before committing a team: a buff can make a normally weak role valuable, while the upcoming enemy preview can reveal that your usual formation needs a different placement.
Arcade Challenge
Arcade Challenge is a separate challenge mode identified by the official tips. Check its unlock state, displayed reward, and attempt rules in the current client rather than assuming it shares Infinity’s buffs or progression.
World Boss Challenge
World Boss Challenge is also officially listed. Because boss availability and rewards can be event-dependent, inspect the current schedule and damage or participation rules before reserving your strongest team.
For any challenge, compare four facts: unlock requirement, displayed reward, team strength or rule, and whether the activity is repeatable or time-limited. The available official overview confirms the mode distinctions and on-screen rewards but does not provide a complete ranked daily schedule.

Formation and upgrade priorities
KOF AFK’s five-versus-five battles make formation part of progression. Place durable or defensive roles where they can absorb the pressure indicated by the enemy preview, and protect damage or support roles when the stage threatens your back line. Test one change at a time—position, role, then upgrade—so you know what solved the loss.
When resources are scarce, use this order:
- Fix a formation or role mismatch that costs a battle you otherwise nearly win.
- Raise the active team enough to cross the next stage or unlock threshold.
- Invest in a substitute only when the current stage, challenge rule, or event requires it.
- Reserve premium materials for a summon or Link whose requirements and payoff you have verified.
There is no universally best team established by the official descriptions. Enemy composition, available Fighters, buffs, and your account’s unlock level determine the correct arrangement.

The official game listing states that paid items are available and that probability-based items are included. The Premium Summon guide explains mechanics and reward categories, but the accessible material does not provide a complete current probability table. Before spending money or premium currency, open the live summon details and verify the exact rates, guarantees, duplicate rules, purchase limits, and expiration date.
- Do not treat a marketing phrase such as “keep getting stronger with ease” as an independent performance claim.
- Do not infer current odds from a screenshot, an old guide, or another region’s client.

Using unmatched DNA for Link
Symptom: You have DNA but the Link screen still blocks the duplicate. Fix: Check whether the DNA is Solar, Lunar, or Stellar and whether it matches the Fighter’s required attribute.
Ignoring rising Link costs
Symptom: A planned second Link consumes materials needed for campaign progress. Fix: Read the next Link requirement after every completion and keep a progression reserve.
Following an expired event recommendation
