Lead announcement in 2026
On September 17, 2026, Kojima Productions announced Bill Skarsgård as PHYSINT’s lead performer and protagonist. Its announcement included a new poster featuring Skarsgård and Fraser; Xbox Wire says the image uses a photograph Kojima took of the two actors. This update does not assign roles to Fraser or the other previously announced cast members.
Kojima said, “I’m delighted to confirm the lead role for PHYSINT will be Bill Skarsgård.” He added that he and Skarsgård were long-time fans of each other’s work, and that costume fittings, scans, and camera tests with Skarsgård and Fraser earlier that year gave him confidence in the project’s direction. The statement appears in the studio’s announcement and was also reported by Xbox Wire.

Not as a current publisher description: Kojima Productions identified Xbox as PHYSINT’s new publishing partner in its September 17, 2026 announcement. However, the announcement does not specify the game’s final release platforms. Naming Xbox as publisher is not, by itself, confirmation of a particular console or platform list, so it would be premature to state where PHYSINT will be available.
What is PHYSINT, and what is still unknown?
Kojima Productions describes PHYSINT as its third original IP and says Hideo Kojima has called it the culmination of his 40-year career as a video game creator.
