It stars Rose Belmont in 1499 Paris and is scheduled to launch October 15, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. A demo is available, and Konami has announced digital and physical Midnight Editions.
What is Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse?
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is a 2D action-exploration game announced by Konami as part of the series’ 40th-anniversary year. Konami names Evil Empire as the development studio and Motion Twin as an advisory studio. The game follows Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont, in Paris in 1499—23 years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Creatures are emerging from a looming castle, setting the scene for Rose’s confrontation with them. Konami’s February announcement and its release and edition announcement provide those details.
How does the whip work?
Konami describes the Vampire Killer whip as both a weapon and a traversal tool. Rose can swing across areas, reach hidden or previously inaccessible rooms, and attack from unusual positions. The publisher also highlights exploration, environmental secrets and puzzles, traps, weapons, and spells. These are Konami’s descriptions of the game’s features, not an independent assessment of how they play.
When does Belmont’s Curse release, and on which platforms?
Konami and Nintendo’s current official listings give October 15, 2026, as the release date. The June announcement had said the Nintendo Switch date would be announced later; Konami’s game site subsequently listed October 15 for that version as well.

Konami also announced an Alucard-style Rose costume as an early-purchase or preorder bonus.
Some select EMEA retailers may offer a SteelBook with the physical Midnight Edition; select retailers may also offer a Rose Belmont tarot card featuring art by Katsuya Terada.
