Love For These Clothes Of Desire! is worth considering if you enjoy the anime’s chaotic cast, visual-novel storytelling and suggestive costume comedy. It is not a conventional action RPG: its story is paired with weekly activity planning, resource gathering and outfit crafting. That light management layer adds something to do between scenes, but players looking for combat-heavy gameplay—or who are wary of localization issues—should weigh that against the appeal of the characters.
What kind of game is Love For These Clothes Of Desire?
Developed by MAGES. Inc. and published by PQube, the game is a comedy visual novel built around Kazuma and his party. They discover a mysterious Black Slab that curses them with desires opposite to their usual personalities. To break the curse, they gather ingredients and make outfits that fit those newly reversed desires.
The core experience is story and character interaction, not action-RPG combat. Steam describes opportunities to build affection with up to seven heroines. Alongside the visual-novel scenes is a weekly planner: assign characters activities suited to their strengths, earn funds and resources, then use materials to craft the outfits the story calls for. The planning and crafting give the player a modest management loop, but the main draw remains the cast and its humor.
Who is most likely to enjoy it?
KonoSuba fans who want more time with the cast
The curse premise gives the familiar personalities room to bounce off deliberately out-of-character behavior. If the appeal of KonoSuba for you is the dysfunctional party, banter and character relationships, the visual-novel format gives those elements the spotlight. Tech-Gaming’s February 13, 2024 review excerpt praised the “wonderfully dysfunctional cast” and voice performances; Noisy Pixel’s February 5, 2024 excerpt likewise highlighted the series humor, writing, voice acting and character content.
#1 Best Overall
- Visual Novel - Witness a new story featuring a full cast of fan-favourite characters from the series. Each heroine has her own ending and special CGs! Pick your words wisely, the choice is yours!
- Time and Resource Management - Collect resources to create outfits by completing tasks and quests. Fill out a weekly planner for each character based on their strengths to earn funds and resources.
- Dress-up - Once the mystical outfits have been made it’s time to play dress-up! Be ready for twists and turns as your favourite characters’ personalities change with each curse and desire-fulfilling piece of clothing.
Players who like outfit collection and suggestive comedy
Outfits are central to the plot and crafting loop, and the official descriptions lean into costume humor and characters acting against type. Expect fan-service and suggestive material rather than treating the costumes as purely practical gear. Nintendo’s US listing carries the ESRB descriptor “Language, Suggestive Themes.” A review excerpt describes the game as a light-hearted romp while warning readers to expect “kinky stuff”; that is a reviewer’s content guidance, not an official rating.
Players comfortable with visual-novel pacing and light planning
The planner gives you recurring choices about how to use the party’s abilities and resources, but it does not turn the game into a deep strategy or action title. If you mainly want battles, exploration or demanding systems, the format may feel slight. If brief management tasks are a welcome change of pace between story scenes, the mix may suit you.

What do reviews say—and how much weight should you give them?
The review record is limited, so the available praise and criticism are useful signals rather than a broad verdict. Metacritic’s page, accessed October 8, 2026, displayed three critic reviews and no Metascore because four reviews were required. Its user score was 8.2 from nine ratings. Steam’s page showed “Very Positive,” with 88% positive from 207 user reviews when accessed on October 8, 2026. Both user figures are small, changing snapshots, not representative surveys.
The excerpts lean toward the game’s appeal for fans: Noisy Pixel called it a visual novel that “captures the spirit of the series,” while Tech-Gaming singled out the cast and performances. GameGrin’s March 19, 2024 excerpt was more qualified: it praised the charm but noted translation issues. That makes localization a sensible point to consider, especially if awkward English text would undermine the humor for you. The cited reviews do not establish how widespread or severe those issues are.
Rank #3
- DRESSES Once you have made the mystical outfits, it's time to get dressed! Prepare for twists and turns as the personalities of your favorite characters change with each and every garment you want
- Time and Resource Management: Collect resources to create clothes by completing tasks and missions. Fill out a settim planner for each character based on their strengths to earn funds and resources

Is the English localization good, and is there an English dub?
Steam lists an English interface and subtitles with Japanese full audio. Its listing does not advertise English full audio, so do not buy on the assumption that an English dub is included. GameGrin’s March 19, 2024 review excerpt explicitly mentions translation issues, but the small review sample does not quantify their extent. Treat localization as a potential drawback rather than a conclusively measured flaw.
Which platforms and formats are available?
| Platform or format | What the listings establish |
|---|---|
| PC | Steam lists a February 7, 2024 release, single-player play, English interface and subtitles, and Japanese full audio. |
| Nintendo Switch, US listing | Nintendo lists a digital edition released February 8, 2024, with English, one-player support, TV/tabletop/handheld modes and a 3.2 GB download. The listing also says Switch 2 compatibility is supported and that behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch; this is Nintendo’s compatibility information, not an independent performance test. |
| Nintendo Switch, UK listing | Nintendo lists English, a 3.2 GB download, a download version and a Game Card edition. Its displayed date, 08/02/2024, is August 2, 2024 in the UK date format. The page shows a PEGI 12 rating. |
| PlayStation 4 | Metacritic lists a PS4 version. The official storefront listings covered here confirm PC and Switch details, not PS4-specific language, format or technical features. |
The platform dates differ because they come from region- and platform-specific listings: Steam gives February 7, 2024; Nintendo US gives February 8, 2024; Nintendo UK displays August 2, 2024. The official Nintendo UK page is evidence of a Switch Game Card edition, while the US listing cited here is digital. Check the catalog and stock in your own region before planning to buy a physical copy; the UK listing does not establish current availability elsewhere.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Should you buy it?
- Consider it if the KonoSuba cast and comedy are your main reason to play, and you enjoy visual novels with a small amount of planning and crafting.
- Think twice if you want an action-focused game, dislike suggestive costume humor, or need polished localization to carry the jokes.
- Choose a version by access, not assumed features. Steam confirms Japanese full audio and English interface/subtitles; Nintendo’s UK listing confirms a Game Card edition. The cited sources do not establish a performance or control advantage for any platform.
For more context, Steam reproduces a WayTooManyGames excerpt saying, “If you had any love for Konosuba!, then you’re going to want to pick up this game.” It appears on Steam without a publication date. That enthusiasm captures the strongest case for the game, but the modest review sample and localization caveat are worth keeping in view.
