What kind of game is Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo?
Released May 16, 2025, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo: Closure Edition is developed by Galla and published by Fellow Traveller. You play as Kulebra, a newly deceased snake in Limbo, where souls are caught in an endless loop. The stated goal is to understand what keeps them trapped and help them find closure.
Steam describes the game as a point-and-click adventure built around puzzles, light stealth, and empathy-driven boss encounters rather than action combat. That framing makes the encounters sound like extensions of the narrative and problem-solving, but the listing alone cannot establish how they feel or how challenging they are in practice. How do the time loop and puzzles fit together?
The cycle is central to the game’s advertised exploration. Xbox says the world moves through day, dusk, and night, and that a curse resets souls at the end of the cycle. In principle, those details make the repeating day a way to learn about characters and uncover what they need, rather than simply a timer to survive.

Fellow Traveller presents Limbo as a colorful world with humor, heart, and some darkness, and describes it as “Latin American-flavored.” That is the publisher’s characterization, not an independent assessment of the game’s cultural representation. The premise does give the adventure room to approach grief through individual characters and their stories; whether the writing and setting make that approach resonate is not established by storefront copy.
