Nintendo Life’s Lagoon Layer walkthrough lists 56 Banandium Gems across SL100, SL101, and SL102. The list includes ten post-credit rewards on SL101, so it is not a first-visit checklist from start to finish. Nintendo calls these collectibles Banandium Gems; players and guides often call them bananas. Use the sublayer sections below to track the walkthrough’s numbered entries and spot the postgame gate before you go looking for those rewards.
Banandium Gems can be hidden in walls or ground and awarded for ruin challenges, according to Nintendo’s game overview. They add Skill Points for improving health, power, or learning skills.
How to use this Lagoon Layer banana checklist
The locations below follow Nintendo Life’s numbered Lagoon Layer walkthrough, published August 14, 2025. The accessible written descriptions identify landmarks and activities, but do not provide map coordinates; use the walkthrough’s embedded maps alongside the location names rather than relying on invented compass directions. The 56-item total is the walkthrough’s count, not an official Nintendo statistic.
Some entries are gated by story progress, returning to an area later, or completing the credits. In particular, entries 41–50 are post-credit rewards. If you are still progressing through the main objective, prioritize the earlier entries and come back to any routes you cannot yet access.

- Entries 26–30: Search around Salvager’s Landing, the fishing village, and Kong Elder’s Court.
- Entries 31–35: Follow the water-level routes; the guide notes that some require filling the water to maximum.
- Entries 36–40: Check the thorny conveyor and hanging challenges, along with the ship-container route.
Post-credit: Kong Bananza Rehearsal bananas 41–50
These ten entries are post-credit rewards, not ordinary first-visit pickups. Nintendo Life says to roll credits, have at least 300 Banandium Gems, and speak to the Kong Elder on SL101 to begin the Kong Bananza Rehearsal. The walkthrough lists the rewards as entries 41–50. If the rehearsal is not available, check those requirements before searching the route for individual bananas.

Use the SL102 map and entries 51–56 to line up the remaining locations.
- Entry 51: Check the entrance to Chimpy Channel.
- Entries 52–53: Search the Kong Bananza: Pop Party Challenge Ruins, including its roof and ceiling.

- Entries 55–56: Complete the Seekertone hide-and-seek quest at the former boss battle site.
Why some Lagoon Layer bananas are easy to miss
The walkthrough’s route types mix hidden terrain and traversal with challenges and NPC or collection tasks. A banana may be below a surface, behind a route opened by water level, inside or around a ruin, or tied to an activity rather than sitting visibly along the main path. Nintendo confirms the broader mechanics: gems can be concealed in walls or ground and can come from ruin challenges.

For the Lagoon Layer list, distinguish three kinds of return trip:
- Story progress: Some locations require clearing the main objective or returning to the layer later.
- Route conditions: Certain SL101 paths require the water at maximum level.
- Postgame: SL101 entries 41–50 require credits, the stated gem threshold, and starting the rehearsal with the Kong Elder.
For wider game context, Nintendo Life’s all-gem guide describes recurring activity types such as Challenge Ruins, Battle Ruins, Shifty Smash, and NPC or collection tasks across the game. Those general patterns do not mean every activity type appears in Lagoon Layer.
