Riot’s 2026 Worlds anthem is “Know My Name,” performed by virtual group True Damage. But at 08:23 UTC on October 8, the song had not yet been released: Riot scheduled its video premiere for 6 p.m. PDT that day—01:00 UTC on October 9. The divided reactions so far are to a preview, not the complete track.
When “Know My Name” releases

Who performs the 2026 Worlds anthem?
“Know My Name” is performed by True Damage, Riot’s virtual hip-hop group. Riot describes it as the 13th Worlds anthem and the first Worlds anthem performed by one of its virtual music acts. The group’s character personas are Akali and Ekko as rappers, Qiyana as a vocalist and rapper, Senna as a vocalist, and Yasuo as a DJ and producer. Riot named SOYEON, Coco Jones, Vic Mensa, and Sofía Reyes as the 2026 collaborators. Riot’s announcement

Riot says the video centers on Faker’s career and T1’s historic three-peat championship, presenting a story of resilience: setbacks followed by continued achievement. That framing makes the anthem’s subject more specific than a general celebration of the tournament, tying it to a defining run in Worlds history. Riot’s announcement

Why are preview reactions divided?
A Reddit thread titled “Worlds 2026 Anthem ‘Know My Name’ by True Damage Preview” captures opposing first impressions. Some commenters found the preview exciting or promising and welcomed True Damage’s return. Others called it generic, questioned whether it felt like a Worlds anthem, or compared it unfavorably with earlier songs. A further point of disagreement is whether a short clip is enough to judge the track.
Those reactions show disagreement in that discussion, not a measured verdict from League of Legends fans overall. The thread concerns a preview, and at the stated timestamp the full release was still forthcoming. It cannot establish how listeners will respond to the completed song.
What listeners are weighing
The debate turns on subjective expectations for a Worlds anthem rather than a single test the song can pass or fail. The preview discussion raises several criteria:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Worlds-scale impact: whether the track feels grand or energizing enough for the championship.
- Sound and vocals: whether its genre and vocal style work for the listener.
- Comparison with past anthems: whether it evokes earlier Worlds songs—and whether that resemblance is welcome.
- Preview versus full track: whether a brief excerpt gives enough context to judge the complete arrangement.
These are individual listeners’ standards, not objective rankings. The full release may change opinions, but the preview alone cannot tell us how.
