What changed in League of Legends patch 25.S1.1?
Patch 25.S1.1 was a season-launch update, rather than a champion-only balance patch. Riot introduced a Noxus visual theme on Summoner’s Rift, added Atakhan and Feats of Strength, adjusted objective timing and lane pacing, and made changes to champions, turrets, queues and professional play.
Riot said the Noxus-themed Rift, including themed minions, turrets and shopkeepers, would remain through Season 1. The visual changes were designed to preserve competitive integrity; Riot planned a different seasonal journey for Season 2.

How does Atakhan work?
Atakhan is a new Epic Monster whose location and form reflect activity in the match’s opening minutes. His pit appears at 14:00, and he spawns at 20:00 on the side of the river with more champion damage and kills by 14 minutes.
Riot framed the objective as a way to let players create more variation from game to game. The two forms offer different rewards:
| Form | Match condition | Team reward |
|---|---|---|
| Ruinous | Associated with the higher-action side of the map, based on champion damage and kills by 14 minutes. | Increases Epic Monster rewards by 25% for the rest of the game and grants Bloody Petals. |
| Voracious | Associated with the lower-action side of the map, based on champion damage and kills by 14 minutes. | Gives the winning team a one-time death-mitigation effect and a permanent 40 gold for each champion takedown. |
Blood Roses grant team experience and a permanent, stacking Adaptive Force bonus. The change also shifts the timing of the other major neutral objectives: Rift Herald spawns at 16:00 and Baron Nashor at 25:00.

What are Feats of Strength?
Feats of Strength revise how early-game milestones pay out. The system removes the gold bonuses for First Blood and First Turret and adds Monster Slaying, which requires claiming three Epic Monsters.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Teams compete across three feats: First Blood, First Turret and Monster Slaying.
- The first team to complete two of the three earns Triumphant Tier 2 boots for its players.
- A later Tier 3 boot upgrade can be purchased with gold, provided the player has at least two legendary items.
Riot also changed turret behavior. Destroyed Nexus turrets now respawn at full health after three minutes. Turret heat damage and its duration increased, while early top- and mid-lane turret Fortification was reduced.
How did the patch change lanes, Teleport and bounties?
Riot adjusted early Teleport and Homeguard behavior to narrow the difference in time spent away from lane between walking back and teleporting. Minion waves clear each other faster: early minions have less health and deal more damage to lane minions. Champion bounty rules were simplified for negative bounties.

Together, these changes affect the rhythm of early lane play and how quickly waves resolve. The notes specify the rules and tuning, but do not provide measured results for match length or player outcomes.
Where did Swiftplay launch?
Swiftplay is a faster Summoner’s Rift mode intended to retain laning, teamfights and scaling while making early disadvantages less punishing. Riot said it would initially replace Quickplay in these regions:

What did the patch change for ranked and pro play?
Ranked Season 1
Riot scheduled the 2025 ranked Season 1 start for January 9, 2025, at noon local server time globally. The season’s Victorious skin required 15 ranked wins in Solo/Duo or Flex, or a combination of wins across those queues.
Fearless Draft in professional play
Tier-one leagues were set to use Fearless Draft for the first professional split. In a best-of-three or best-of-five series, once a champion is picked in a game, neither team can pick that champion again in the remaining games of the series. Riot said the format was intended to increase game-to-game variety and give players with distinctive champion pools more room to contribute.
