League of Legends Patch 26.6 was scheduled for March 18, 2026, with Shyvana’s visual and gameplay update at its center. The preview also outlined champion balance, ranked matchmaking and LP adjustments, support minion-income rules, and changes for Arena and ARAM: Mayhem. Riot published the final notes on March 17, then updated them on March 20; those notes and hotfix details—not every number in the preview—describe what reached live servers.

Riot framed the live balance work as targeting a small set of outliers, with Lissandra’s Q cooldown restoration a prominent goal. Its notes say the patch “looks to restore Lissandra to her old 3-second Q cooldown glory.”
Shyvana’s rework is the headline
Patch 26.6 gave Shyvana a new model, visual effects, voice-over, kit, and skins. Her updated abilities are built around Scalemail, a passive that stacks armor and magic resistance; Emberstrike; Inferno Aegis; Molten Burst; and Dragon’s Descent. Riot’s final notes contain the live ability details, while the March 20 update records subsequent adjustments.

What changed after launch
On March 20, Riot reduced Shyvana’s passive armor and magic resistance gained per stack from 0.4 to 0.3. It changed Q’s on-hit cooldown reduction from 1.25 to 1 second and adjusted damage, healing, slow, and fear duration. These hotfix changes supersede the initial live values for anyone comparing the patch’s rollout with the preview.
Champion balance changes in the final notes
The final patch notes cover Ahri, Azir, Cassiopeia, Lissandra, Olaf, Pyke, Shen, Skarner, Tryndamere, and Zaahen. Riot’s stated design aims—not evidence of later win-rate or pick-rate outcomes—were:

- Ahri: Moderate her waveclear.

- Lissandra: Restore access to her Q more often while trimming armor growth.
- Olaf: Improve his jungle performance. The March 20 update increased Q base and monster damage.
- Pyke: Reduce his durability.
- Shen: Slow his jungle clear.
- Skarner: Improve his lane trading.
- Tryndamere: Strengthen his late game.
- Zaahen: Reduce his jungle pressure.
The sources establish Riot’s intended changes and the listed hotfixes, but do not establish a particular current win rate, pick rate, or lasting meta effect.
Ranked matchmaking and LP claims in the preview
The community post says the preview reported improved autofill-versus-autofill matching in Vietnam and EUW high MMR, along with a small Patch 26.6 fix intended to make Apex LP gains more consistent. It gives these figures as preview statements linked from the Reddit post, not as independently verified telemetry:

Items and support minion-income rules
Standard item changes
Riot reduced Chempunk Chainsword’s cost from 3,100 to 3,000 gold. Sunfire Aegis’s build path changed by replacing 400 gold of combine cost with a Ruby Crystal.

Support income penalty
The minion threshold for the support income penalty increased from seven to 24 minions before five minutes. After five minutes, the threshold increased from 20 to 30 minions per five minutes. Riot said the adjustment was meant to ease the penalty while discouraging bot-lane carries from taking both players’ income.

Important preview corrections and caveats
- Cassiopeia: Her listed changes were delayed because of an error and did not ship in Patch 26.6.
- Xerath: The Reddit post explicitly labels the Xerath change a joke about Phreak saying he was Xerath in a rundown. It was not a real proposed or shipped balance change.
- Shyvana: Her March 20 adjustments changed multiple live values, so initial preview figures should not be presented as the lasting patch values.
- Other March 20 fixes: Riot updated Olaf’s Q and fixed Rift Herald interactions with Overgrowth, along with several Arena bugs.
- Meta outcomes: The cited preview and Riot notes provide plans, mechanics, and corrections, not outcome data proving a specific win-rate change or lasting meta shift.
