Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered is already available. Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics released the two-game collection on December 10, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It updates both original games with refreshed visuals and features while letting players switch back to the original presentation.
Is Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered out yet?
Yes. The collection launched on December 10, 2024. Aspyr lists it for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. Availability can vary by region, so check the storefront for your country. Aspyr’s release FAQ confirms the date and platforms.
What does the collection include?
It contains remastered versions of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2. The publisher describes higher-resolution textures, models and visual effects, improved performance, an upgraded camera, additional control options, and photo mode. It is a remastered collection of the original games, not a newly made remake. Crystal Dynamics’ announcement outlines the collection’s features.
Switch between classic and updated presentation
Players can toggle between the original visuals and the remastered graphics. The collection also offers modern and classic control options, so the visual update and control style are choices rather than a single required setup.

Play as Raziel across two realms
The publisher describes the games as dark action-adventures in which Raziel seeks revenge after Kain betrays and executes him. Combat uses claws, telekinetic energy and the Wraith Blade; shifting between the Spectral and Material Realms is central to solving puzzles and finding routes. These are publisher descriptions, not independent performance or gameplay test results.
What bonus content is included?
The package adds archival materials such as maps, galleries, FMV cinematics, scripts and soundtracks. It also includes four Lost Level areas: Undercity, Smokestack, Retreat and Forges. Aspyr describes these as preserved unfinished material, so expect areas that can have missing textures or feel under construction rather than polished additions to the main campaign.

Aspyr’s Matthew Ray said the team restored and recreated, where possible, the Soul Reaver 2 bonus materials in HD and made them accessible from the menu. The collection’s extra materials are a useful draw for players interested in the series’ development history as well as the games themselves. Yes. Limited Run Games lists physical standard editions for Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox. Its listings establish that physical versions exist, but they do not establish current stock or availability from other retailers. Check the retailer’s platform-specific listing for ordering details. How much does it cost?
Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics announced a $29.99 launch price in 2024. The US PlayStation and Steam pages reviewed also display $29.99, but prices can change and differ by region or storefront. Check your local store for the current price rather than treating the launch figure as a universal or permanent price. Steam’s listing includes current store information and PC requirements.
PC requirements on Steam
Steam lists Windows 10 or later, a 64-bit processor and operating system, 4 GB RAM and 2 GB available storage as minimum requirements; its recommended requirements include 16 GB RAM. Store requirements may be revised, so consult the listing before purchase.
