The 18+ set has 1,972 pieces, a movable head and arms, and a stand for posing the kart at an angle; it is not an electronic Mario Kart game or a playable character figure.
What is LEGO Mario Kart set 72037?
Officially named Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart, set 72037 recreates Mario seated in the Standard Kart as a brick-built display model. LEGO announced it on March 10, 2025, describing it as a build for adult fans. The set includes step-by-step instructions, and LEGO’s Builder app offers instructions, 3D rotation, and progress tracking. LEGO describes the build as suitable for experienced fans and newcomers; that is the manufacturer’s positioning, not an independent assessment of build difficulty or time. LEGO’s announcement.
How big is the set, and how many pieces does it have?
The set contains 1,972 pieces and is marked for ages 18+. LEGO lists the finished model as 19 cm wide, 32 cm long, and 22 cm high. Those are the manufacturer’s stated dimensions, in width × length × height order. LEGO’s product announcement.
Can Mario move, and how is the kart displayed?
Mario’s head and arms are movable. An included stand supports angled display poses, giving the kart a sense of motion; it remains a display build rather than an interactive or electronic Mario Kart experience. LEGO’s announcement describes the stand as enabling dynamic angles and the figure as having a movable head and arms. LEGO’s announcement.

Is 72037 a good fit for a Mario Kart fan?
It is most directly suited to someone who wants a substantial Mario Kart display build: the appeal is the recognizable Standard Kart, Mario’s limited poseability, and the angled stand. The 18+ age mark and large piece count make clear that LEGO presents it as a display-oriented build, not as a small toy or a video game. The official specifications do not establish build duration, hands-on durability, or how it performs in play.
