Lenovo’s CES 2026 gaming announcement included a striking Legion Pro Rollable Concept, a second-generation Legion Go powered by SteamOS, and new Legion and LOQ laptops. The rollable machine is a proof of concept—not a confirmed retail product—while the handheld and conventional gaming laptops are the products buyers can realistically track.
Lenovo announced the lineup on January 6, 2026. Prices and launch windows below are Lenovo’s estimated U.S. figures and may vary by configuration, country, and final availability.

The Legion Pro Rollable Concept is not a product you can buy
The headline device is a 16-inch gaming laptop whose display expands horizontally to 21.5 inches and then 24 inches. Lenovo positioned it for traveling esports competitors who want a compact machine for transport that can become a wider gaming or multitasking display at a desk.

In expanded modes, the additional screen area could help with wider game interfaces, streaming controls, side-by-side applications, or an ultrawide-style view. Lenovo describes the device as a proof of concept. There is no confirmed retail launch, consumer price, or public purchase listing. The announcement also does not establish a final weight, thickness, battery capacity, resolution in every mode, refresh rate, durability rating, mechanical lifespan, or software behavior during expansion. Lenovo’s CES announcement is the authoritative source for the confirmed screen sizes and concept status.
A hands-on report from TechRadar described the demonstration as expandable and retractable, but those observations should not be mistaken for final retail specifications.

Why the concept matters—and why it may not replace a monitor
The idea addresses a real travel problem: carrying one portable computer that can provide both a normal laptop footprint and a larger practice display. The trade-off is equally real. A moving display mechanism could add complexity, weight, repair challenges, cost, and potential failure points. A conventional Legion or LOQ laptop connected to an external ultrawide monitor remains the more mature alternative for desk gaming, even though it is less portable.

Legion Go powered by SteamOS: the practical handheld announcement
The Legion Go, Powered by SteamOS is Lenovo’s 8.8-inch, second-generation Legion Go platform configured to ship natively with SteamOS. Lenovo called it its most powerful handheld to ship with SteamOS, but that is Lenovo’s positioning rather than an independent performance result.

SteamOS versus Windows
SteamOS is the better fit for a Steam-first buyer who wants a console-like startup, simpler navigation, and a handheld-focused interface. It is not an automatic performance upgrade, and it does not guarantee that every PC game will work without configuration.

- Choose SteamOS if most of your games are on Steam and ease of handheld use matters more than broad desktop compatibility.
- Choose Windows if you rely on Xbox Game Pass, Epic, Battle.net, mods, third-party utilities, non-Steam launchers, or general Windows software.
SteamOS compatibility can vary with anti-cheat systems, launchers, and Windows-only software. Non-Steam stores and Game Pass may require workarounds or streaming. Windows offers wider compatibility, but its desktop setup, notifications, drivers, and launcher management can create more friction on a small screen.

The Legion 7a is the premium choice in this group for buyers combining demanding games with streaming and productivity. The Legion 5a offers a lower-cost AMD route, while the Legion 5i is the Intel-based option. Exact graphics, memory, storage, display, and regional configurations must be checked on the individual product listing.

New LOQ laptops target the value segment
| Model | Key announced details | Estimated U.S. starting price | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| LOQ 15AHP11 | AMD Ryzen 200 Series processors, RTX 50-series laptop graphics, up to a 15.3-inch WQXGA display, and HyperChamber Cooling. | $1,149 | Expected April 2026 |
| LOQ 15IPH11 | Intel-based model with RTX 50-series laptop graphics and up to a 15.3-inch WQXGA display. | No general U.S. price announced | Select markets only |
Lenovo says HyperChamber Cooling is designed to improve airflow around key components and direct hot air away from the user. That is a design claim, not an independently measured reduction in temperature or fan noise.
A Lenovo LOQ 15AHP11 datasheet identifies an RTX 5060 Laptop GPU configuration, but that does not mean every 15AHP11 configuration includes that GPU.

What should buyers wait for?
- Rollable Legion Pro: Treat it as a technology demonstration. Do not delay a purchase for it unless Lenovo confirms a retail model, price, specifications, and support policy.
- SteamOS Legion Go: Worth watching if your library is mainly on Steam and you want a console-like handheld experience. Confirm compatibility for your multiplayer games and launchers.
- Windows Legion Go Gen 2: The safer choice for Game Pass, non-Steam storefronts, mods, and general Windows use.
- Legion 5a and LOQ 15AHP11: The practical value-oriented laptop choices in the announced lineup, subject to final configurations and street prices.
- Legion 7a: The premium Legion option for buyers willing to pay more for higher-end gaming, streaming, and multitasking positioning.
Lenovo’s CES message was about adapting gaming hardware to different situations: a display that changes size, a handheld that changes operating-system experience, and laptop families spanning premium Legion and value-oriented LOQ models. The rollable concept is the visual headline, but the SteamOS handheld and conventional laptops are the devices buyers can meaningfully evaluate.
