During this fight’s bad weather, weakness hits still deal damage, but they do not grant the extra Turn Icons you might normally expect. Keep the party in the back row, attack with a Gunner’s Pierce skills or a suitable Archetype’s Fire skills, and prepare for Ice and Wind attacks.
Leogron’s weaknesses and attack options
Both Pierce and Fire exploit Leogron’s weaknesses, according to Gamer Guides, Neoseeker, and Game8. The available guides do not establish that one route deals more damage overall, so use whichever weakness skills your party can access while keeping its members safe.

|---|---|
| Pierce | Gunners can use Pierce skills effectively from the back row, as Gamer Guides notes. |
| Fire | Use Fire skills from an Archetype that has them; the sources do not specify one universally best Archetype. |
The weather caveat matters for turn planning: weakness hits still damage Leogron, but Gamer Guides says bad weather prevents weakness hits and critical hits from granting extra Turn Icons. Do not build a plan around the usual turn extension in this encounter.
Recommended party positioning and preparation
- Put the party in the back row. The guides recommend this to reduce incoming damage. It also suits a Pierce plan built around Gunner skills.
- Check Archetype resistances. Avoid party members whose Archetypes are vulnerable to Ice or Wind where possible; Leogron uses both elements.
- Bring healing and defensive support. You will need to recover from repeated attacks. Gamer Guides and Neoseeker mention defense support as a way to help the party withstand them.
- Plan for Attack reductions. Leogron’s Wind attacks can lower party Attack. Dekunda is one support option mentioned by the guides; otherwise, account for the debuff when choosing how to sustain damage.
- Choose Pierce, Fire, or both. Select skills available to your party, but remember that weakness damage will not extend your turns in this weather.
What Leogron does during the fight
Heat Riser at the opening
Leogron starts with Heat Riser, which raises its Attack, Defense, Hit, and Evasion. Gamer Guides says the boss reapplies the buff when it wears off, so expect the boost to return rather than treating it as a one-time opening move.

Ice attacks against one character
Blizzaton and Ice Claw target an individual party member with Ice damage. Gamer Guides notes that Ice Claw may also inflict Frostbite. Keep healing available and avoid placing Ice-vulnerable Archetypes in danger if you can.
Wind attacks against the party
Chimera’s Wing hits the party with Wind damage and lowers party Attack. Later, after Deadeye Stance ensures its next attack will hit, Leogron uses Chimera’s King Wing, a stronger party-wide Wind attack that also debuffs Attack, according to Gamer Guides and Neoseeker. This makes Wind vulnerability and the Attack reduction important considerations for party survival and damage output.

The reward details reported by the guides are not identical, so treat them as separate claims rather than a single guaranteed drop. Gamer Guides describes a Crystal Ice Gunbai that can be obtained with Steal and identifies Monster’s Notebook as the victory item for the quest. Neoseeker lists a Talisman of the Avian as the victory reward. The sources do not establish whether these differences reflect reward categories or conditions.
