Veil of Secrets is a romantic-mystery story in Pixelberry Studios’ Choices: Stories You Play. It begins when Kate O’Malley disappears at her wedding, sending the protagonist to investigate in Birchport, a fictional seaside town in Massachusetts. This is the Pixelberry story—not the separate game Veil of Secrets: Mystery Game by Writecream.
What is Veil of Secrets about?
Kate O’Malley vanishes on her wedding day. Her best friend—the protagonist—heads to Birchport to find her, but the search leads into secrets and troubled histories that reach beyond the disappearance. Pixelberry’s official creator interview frames the story as a romantic mystery set in a corrupt small town.

The hook is both personal and investigative: can you find your missing best friend and uncover what is wrong with the town? The wedding disappearance gives the mystery an immediate focus, while Birchport provides room for the story’s other tangled histories.
How does the romance fit the mystery?
Pixelberry interviewee Andrew described the story as “a bit of a genre-bender, a romantic mystery.” The publisher’s interview says the creative team developed interlocking plot arcs, character motivations, and red herrings while aiming to keep chapters entertaining. That points to a deliberately layered mystery, but it does not establish that every player choice changes the central solution.

What should players know about choices and spoilers?
A community-maintained Choices wiki walkthrough documents protagonist gender and appearance customization, player choices, and some diamond-priced options. It is spoiler-heavy and explicitly says some choice outcomes have not been explored, so treat it as an incomplete community guide rather than an authoritative account of every branch.
The walkthrough also flags violent scenes and advises player discretion. That warning comes from the community guide, not an official content guide.

Is this the same as Veil of Secrets: Mystery Game?
No. The matching title can lead to a different mobile game: the Apple App Store lists Veil of Secrets: Mystery Game by Writecream. That is separate from Pixelberry’s story in Choices: Stories You Play; the App Store listing does not establish details about the Pixelberry narrative.

Who is likely to enjoy Pixelberry’s story?
- Players who want mystery with romance: Pixelberry identifies the story as a romantic mystery rather than presenting it as a straightforward detective game.
- Readers drawn to small-town secrets: Birchport’s seaside setting and the publisher’s “corrupt small town” framing put community history and hidden motives alongside Kate’s disappearance.
- Players comfortable making narrative choices: The community walkthrough records customization and choice options, including some that cost diamonds. It does not establish the full extent or consequences of branching.
- Spoiler-sensitive players: The walkthrough contains spoilers, so avoid opening it if you want to experience the investigation without advance reveals.
