The pitch came with full-tower proportions: contemporaneous reporting listed it at 240 × 695 × 442 mm and 11.7 kg. That makes the PC-X2000F a historical example of a living-room PC case designed around capacity and cooling—not a compact media-center box.
What Lian Li announced
The PC-X2000F was an aluminum full tower in Lian Li’s TYR line. In its May 11, 2010 announcement, the company described a tall, speaker-like exterior, an anodized finish and separated thermal zones, positioning the case for powerful components in a “home theater environment” or living room. Those phrases describe the manufacturer’s intended use, not an independent assessment of its size, noise or suitability for a particular room. Lian Li’s announcement, hosted by GlobalPR, is the primary source for the launch description.
Why the HTPC label came with a caveat
Technic3D reported dimensions of 240 mm wide, 695 mm tall and 442 mm deep, with a weight of 11.7 kg. At nearly 70 cm tall, the case was closer to a conventional tower than the compact boxes many people picture when they hear “HTPC.” The dimensions and weight are contemporaneous reported specifications, not measurements from a present-day test. Technic3D’s May 12, 2010 report also listed four 5.25-inch bays, seven 3.5-inch drives and five 140 mm fans.
What the PC-X2000F offered
Room for drives and large motherboards
Lian Li listed support for Extended ATX, ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards. The case’s sides accommodated four 5.25-inch optical drives and one 3.5-inch drive, with tool-less sliding mounts. It also had seven hot-swappable SAS hard-drive bays. These are announced specifications; they do not establish compatibility with every later component or configuration.

Cooling and service access
The announcement described three 140 mm intake fans behind a removable front panel and two 140 mm exhaust fans, along with fan-speed control. A removable, washable nylon dust filter was intended to make routine cleaning easier. The case also separated drive and motherboard thermal zones, and included tool-less motherboard installation, PCI-card holders and extra cable-management space behind the motherboard tray. HEXUS additionally reported 2 mm aluminum side panels and eight expansion slots. HEXUS’s contemporary coverage provides the comparison with the earlier TYR case.
Top-mounted connectivity
Four USB 3.0 ports, eSATA and HD audio were placed on the top panel. For a case announced in 2010, USB 3.0 was a notable revision to the external I/O; it should not be confused with a claim about current front-panel standards or motherboard compatibility.

How it differed from the original TYR PC-X2000
The X2000F was an iteration rather than a wholly new form factor. HEXUS reported that it was 10 mm thicker than the earlier PC-X2000, with more space behind the motherboard tray. The announcement and contemporary comparison also show an increase in drive capacity and a change to USB 3.0 on the top panel.

The available evidence points to a discontinued model rather than an ordinarily stocked new case. PC Case Gear marks its ex-display product page discontinued and out of stock, while Kakaku.com shows no registered current price. Search results have also surfaced used listings on eBay and Ricardo, but those listings are time-sensitive and do not establish availability in every country—or guarantee that any particular offer is still live.

The listed motherboard formats, bays, fans and ports help explain the case’s intended role at launch. They are not a modern fit check: the cited material does not establish clearance for a particular current GPU, radiator or power supply. Nor does the manufacturer’s promotional language about quiet operation constitute independent noise testing. No hands-on testing accompanies these historical specifications.
