The map is a Round-Based Zombies experience set in a West Virginian town overrun after a Dark Aether breach. This guide covers the main quest route and notable landmarks, not every side secret on the map.
What to know before starting
The route below follows the Standard Mode walkthroughs from PowerPyx and GameSpot. PowerPyx notes that Directed Mode can present objectives in a different order, so follow the on-screen objective if it differs from this sequence. GameSpot says the main quest can be completed solo or with a squad; co-op can help manage zombies during defended interactions, but that is not a guarantee of an easier run.

Expect to move between the Church, the bank rooftop area called The Alamo, and locations including Olly’s Comics, Buzz’s Cuts, Fuller’s Liberty Lanes, and the Radio House. Activision’s official ten-round map guide explains map routes and landmarks; it is not a full Easter egg walkthrough.
How to complete the Liberty Falls main Easter egg
1. Activate the Church machine
Make your way to the Church and interact with the machine there to begin the quest. Keep progressing through the map’s routes as needed to reach the required locations and equipment.

2. Build the Thrustodyne M23 (Jet Gun)
Collect the three components needed for the Jet Gun: the Handbrake, Water Pressure Gauge, and Electrical Wires. The walkthroughs place them in separate tasks around Liberty Falls:
- Handbrake: obtain the Groundskeeper’s shed key and use it to access the shed.
- Water Pressure Gauge: complete the valve task at the bowling alley, Fuller’s Liberty Lanes. PowerPyx estimates this section at roughly one minute; treat that as its guide estimate, not a guaranteed timer. It also notes that zombie pressure can make the task easier with a co-op partner.
- Electrical Wires: open the Radio House gate and search inside.
Take the components to the designated workbench to assemble the Jet Gun. It is the map’s Wonder Weapon and is essential to the next stage; the LTG is a quest device, not a weapon.
3. Collect the LTG parts and assemble the device
Use the Jet Gun’s suction function to retrieve the three LTG parts. GameSpot places them at the Church, Olly’s Comics, and Buzz’s Cuts. Once you have all three, assemble the LTG at the workbench on the bank rooftop in The Alamo.

4. Defend the LTG and capture an HVT’s essence
Take an Aether canister to the Dark Aether storm and set up the LTG encounter. Defend the device through its timed sequence, then weaken the high-value target (HVT) that appears and lure it into the nearby trap to capture its essence in the canister.

GameSpot reports a 60-second LTG defense and a 90-second window to return the canister. These are walkthrough-reported in-game timer values; updates or game behavior may affect what you see, so use the active objective and timer in your match as the authority.
5. Return the canister and use the Strauss Counter
Bring the charged canister back to the Church and interact with the machine. Next, use the Strauss Counter to check the three projectors around the map and change each projector’s color to match the counter’s reading. The matching process is the important part: inspect the device at each projector rather than assuming one fixed color sequence.

6. Complete the remaining canister encounter and final sequence
Continue the quest by taking the next canister to the required Dark Aether location, activating the encounter, and completing the subsequent defense and essence-capture steps. Return the canister as directed, then follow the final quest objectives to trigger the concluding sequence. The walkthroughs describe this as the continuation of the same canister-and-trap process; check the in-game prompts for the exact next interaction and positioning.

Aetherella at Olly’s Comics
Olly’s Comics is both a quest landmark and one of the map’s signature sights. Activision’s 2024 launch intel highlights the life-sized Aetherella statue, a photo-worthy nod to the comic character. The official description calls it a draw for visitors to the store, making it a natural stop while searching the area for the LTG part.
Fuller’s Liberty Lanes
The bowling alley is more than a route marker: Activision describes Fuller’s Liberty Lanes as an old-fashioned alley with a snack bar and arcade. It is also where the Water Pressure Gauge task takes place, so players following the main quest will have a reason to explore it closely.

The Alamo and the Church
The bank rooftop area known as The Alamo is the LTG assembly point, while the Church houses the machine that starts the quest and later receives the canister. Activision’s map guide describes these as key navigation anchors and outlines routes through Liberty Falls. The cited official material confirms that the map contains secrets, but it does not establish a complete inventory of every side Easter egg.
