Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is the Majima-focused action-adventure SEGA unveiled at the September 2024 RGG Summit. Goro Majima is its sole main character, in a story set after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The game was released on February 21, 2025, for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
What is the next Yakuza game?
The game announced at the September 2024 RGG Summit was Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. SEGA described it as a brand-new action-adventure, not a numbered mainline sequel. Its announcement identifies Goro Majima as the story’s sole main character and places the events after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. SEGA’s September 20, 2024 announcement introduced the game during the RGG Summit livestream.
When did Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii release?
The game launched on February 21, 2025. SEGA’s original reveal gave February 28, 2025 as the planned date; the later launch notice confirms the earlier date as the actual release. The February 28 date is superseded.
What platforms is the game on?

What did SEGA reveal about the story and gameplay?
SEGA’s announcement sets the adventure in Hawaii and describes Majima building a pirate crew, upgrading his ship, the Goromaru, sailing to islands and confronting rival ships. The reveal also detailed two combat styles:
- Sea Dog: A pirate-themed style using tools and weapons.
- Mad Dog: A faster, more agile style.
These are features described in SEGA’s reveal, rather than claims based on independent hands-on testing. The official announcement has the publisher’s full overview.

SEGA’s store page lists a physical PlayStation 4 version and describes an upgrade to PlayStation 5 subject to its stated console conditions. Check the official product listing and the retailer’s details for the exact version and upgrade terms before buying. DLC is separate from the base game; SEGA’s launch notice mentions it as additional content.
