The delisting stopped new purchases through the store, but it did not erase the offline game for existing owners. The PS4 campaign and locally stored creations remain playable; online services and access to other players’ creations do not.
What happened on October 31, 2024?
A Lenovo Gaming Community post reproduced a notice that LittleBigPlanet 3 and franchise DLC would be removed from the PlayStation Store on October 31, 2024. Because that post is secondary rather than Sony’s original announcement, the date is best understood as a reported delisting date, not a fresh notice from Sony. The checked US PlayStation Store listing now marks the PS4 game and many add-ons unavailable: LittleBigPlanet 3 on the US PlayStation Store.

Store availability and online service availability are separate issues. The game’s PS4 servers had already been taken offline in January 2024, before the reported store removal.
Can you still play LittleBigPlanet 3?
Offline campaign and local content
Yes. PlayStation’s service notice says the offline campaign remains playable on PS4. Locally stored user-generated content is also still available, and players can create new content locally and play it on the console. Those new creations cannot be shared online.

Online play and community levels
No. PlayStation says the PS4 servers were taken offline in January 2024 because of ongoing technical problems, followed by a decision to shut them down indefinitely. Online services, including access to creations made by other players, are unavailable. The notice is published on PlayStation’s Luxembourg site in German: PlayStation service notice.
What the delisting means for owners and buyers
If you already own the game
The removal from the store does not by itself remove the game from an existing owner’s library. The notice reproduced by Lenovo says owners could continue downloading and playing, subject to the loss of online features. For current account-specific download access, check your PlayStation library; availability can depend on your purchase history and account.

If you have not bought it
The checked official US listing marks the PS4 game and many add-ons unavailable, so a new purchase through that listing is not currently offered. That listing does not establish whether legitimate used copies are available elsewhere, or their condition, price, or availability. Store status can also differ by region.
What a controller can and cannot do
The PlayStation Store listing identifies DUALSHOCK 4 features. A compatible PS4 controller can be used for local play, but a controller cannot restore the shut-down servers, bring back access to other players’ creations, or unlock delisted DLC.

Is this the same as the PS3 and PS Vita store closures?
No. LittleBigPlanet 3 is a PS4 game, and its reported 2024 delisting is distinct from the later PlayStation Store changes announced for PS3 and PS Vita. In a July 1, 2026 post, PlayStation said closures would begin in select markets in 2026 and take place globally in 2027; after a device’s store closes, new purchases on that device will no longer be possible, while previously purchased content will remain downloadable for the foreseeable future. Those plans concern PS3 and PS Vita storefronts, not the LittleBigPlanet 3 PS4 delisting: PlayStation Blog announcement.
