Logitech G Pro X 60 Review: A Polished Wireless 60% Keyboard Facing Tough Competition

The Logitech G Pro X 60 delivers excellent wireless convenience, portability, and remapping in a compact 60% design—but it lacks Hall-effect features, Rapid Trigger, adjustable actuation, and hot-swappable switches.

The Logitech G Pro X 60 is a good compact wireless gaming keyboard, but it is not the obvious choice at its premium launch price. It combines Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless, Bluetooth, wired USB-C operation, a carrying case, PBT keycaps, a volume roller, and unusually flexible software remapping. However, competitors such as the Wooting 60HE+ and SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless offer adjustable actuation and rapid-trigger features that matter more to competitive FPS players.

This keyboard launched on April 9, 2024, at about $179 in the US. That is historical launch pricing, not a current September 2026 price. Its value today depends heavily on availability, firmware, and whether it is discounted.

The short version

Keyboard Best for Main advantage over Logitech Main compromise
Logitech G Pro X 60 Wireless Logitech users LIGHTSPEED, Bluetooth, carrying case, and Keycontrol No Hall-effect features or hot-swappable switches
Wooting 60HE+ Competitive FPS Adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger Check current connectivity, price, and availability
SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless Wireless performance gaming Adjustable actuation in a compact wireless format Different software and peripheral ecosystem
Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini Performance-focused Razer users Adjustable-input features Do not treat it as a wireless substitute without checking the exact model
ASUS ROG Azoth Typing and customization More enthusiast-oriented hardware and acoustics Larger than a true 60% board
Cheaper wired 60% Budget buyers Lower price and often hot-swap support Usually fewer wireless, software, and portability conveniences

The G Pro X 60 is best understood as a polished convenience product, not a maximum-performance or maximum-customization keyboard. Buy it if wireless reliability, Logitech integration, portability, and remapping are your priorities. Skip it if you specifically want magnetic switches, rapid trigger, adjustable actuation, or easy switch replacement.

What is the Logitech G Pro X 60?

The G Pro X 60 is a compact 60% gaming keyboard. It has no dedicated function row, number pad, arrow-key cluster, or navigation cluster. Those functions are accessed through Fn combinations, remapped layers, or software profiles rather than separate physical keys.

Logitech G PRO X 60 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Keyboard, Ultra Compact TKL 60% Mechanical Keyboard for Windows PC, LIGHTSYNC RGB, Dual-Shot PBT Keycaps, GX Optical Tactile Switches - Black (Renewed)
  • PRO X 60 LIGHTSPEED: This TKL 60% mechanical gaming keyboard is the next generation of the professional wireless keyboard, designed with esports athletes to provide top performance and secure the win
  • Size Matters: Maximize your space with zero compromise on performance; compact TKL mechanical keyboard provides more room for mouse movement so that you can focus on the win
  • Pro-Grade Tech: Game mode control, standard keyboard layouts with 3P compatibility, media controls and volume roller, and customizable LIGHTSYNC RGB backlit keys via G HUB
  • Optical Switches: GX optical switches offer faster actuation and zero debounce delay; choose from tactile or linear switches according to your playstyle
  • Customization Is Key: KEYCONTROL technology allows pro-level customization of every key and 5 unique layers to make your small gaming keyboard the quintessential control center

That layout makes the board substantially smaller and leaves more room for a mouse—useful for low-sensitivity FPS play. It is also easier to put in a bag, particularly because Logitech includes a hard carrying case. The trade-off is that routine work involving arrows, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, function keys, or navigation shortcuts requires more memorization and layer use.

Logitech’s construction uses an aluminum top plate surrounded by a plastic frame. Engadget described its review sample as sturdy, with little flex, crisp doubleshot PBT keycaps, and comfortable key angles. Those are reviewer observations rather than laboratory measurements. The keyboard is available in black, white, and pink, according to Logitech’s launch announcement.

Features and specifications

  • Layout: 60% compact design.
  • Switches: Logitech GX Optical switches in linear and tactile versions.
  • Keycaps: Doubleshot PBT.
  • Connections: LIGHTSPEED 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and detachable wired USB-C.
  • Controls: Side-mounted volume roller and dedicated Game Mode switch.
  • Lighting: Per-key RGB controlled through Logitech G HUB.
  • Battery: Up to 65 hours, according to Logitech; actual runtime varies with lighting and usage.
  • Included accessory: Hard carrying case with receiver-storage space.

The keyboard can also share a compatible Logitech wireless receiver with a wireless Logitech mouse and keyboard, reducing receiver clutter for users already invested in that ecosystem. Check current compatibility and software support for your exact peripherals and operating system before buying.

Logitech positions the product for esports athletes, but that marketing does not prove it is faster or more competitive than every rival. Its GX Optical switches are not Hall-effect switches, and “optical” does not mean analog.

What a 60% layout changes in everyday use

There are two separate questions: how small the keyboard is physically, and how many functions it can provide logically.

Physically, the G Pro X 60 removes dedicated keys to create a compact footprint. That gives the mouse more space and makes travel easier.

Logically, many of the removed functions remain available through a function layer or Keycontrol remapping. You can configure combinations for arrows, navigation, media control, macros, or game-specific commands. The board is not incapable of those functions; it simply does not place each one on its own key.

For gaming, this may be a worthwhile exchange. For spreadsheets, coding, office work, or games that use many non-letter keys, it can become inconvenient. If you regularly use dedicated arrows and navigation keys, a 65%, 75%, or TKL keyboard is likely a better fit.

Keycontrol is the G Pro X 60’s most useful differentiator

Keycontrol is Logitech’s system for assigning multiple commands, macros, and behaviors to keys across different layers. A simple example is using a modifier plus WASD as an arrow-key layer. You can also create alternate navigation layouts, media shortcuts, RPG controls, strategy-game commands, and separate profiles for different games.

Keycontrol can respond differently depending on whether a key is pressed, held, or released. That gives a compact board more logical flexibility than its physical layout suggests.

  • Fast Trigger Gaming Keyboard: AULA WIN68 HE magnetic gaming keyboard offers an industry-leading 8,000Hz polling rate and 8x faster response time than traditional mechanical keyboard. Combined with ultra-low latency (0.3ms), it ensures your commands take effect instantly, giving you an edge in the game. The fast trigger keyboard is perfect for gamers and coders, greatly enhancing the gaming experience and work efficiency.
  • Hall Effect Keyboard with Magnetic Switch: Equipped with advanced hall effect magnetic switches, the WIN68 HE black gaming keyboard offers adjustable actuation point(0.02mm-3.44mm), and each key can be personalized to the smallest unit of 0.1 mm, providing an ultra-precise keying experience. In addition, press/reset sensitivity can be individually set via software to match the keystroke habits of different people in different types of games
  • Customizable Web Driver: The mechanical gaming keyboard is equipped with a professional web driver that allows users to customize RT/SOCD/DKS/MT/TGL functions, key mapping, macro editing, RGB lighting and other settings on windows systems without downloading(This driver does not support MAC, only compatible with Windows system). It provides one-stop management of the keyboard, allowing users to truly experience customization and personalization. Web driver connection: bit.ly/m/AULA
  • 16.8 Million RGB Backlit keyboard: The light up keyboard features 16.8 million colors of RGB lighting effects with south-facing LEDs for a better visual experience. 14 preset lighting effects add a great ambience to your games. Lighting effects and brightness can be easily adjusted via driver or FN and key combinations. The backlight can be turned off if not needed
  • 60% Compact Wired Keyboard: Designed for professional gamers, the 60% gaming keyboard saves up to 40% of desktop space while retaining the arrow keys and basic function keys. FN and key combinations unlock all keyboard commands. The 68-key wired gaming keyboard with detachable USB cable provides gamers with a more stable connection and greatly enhances the gaming experience. The small size and lightweight design make it easier to carry and perfect for business trip

It is also a compromise. Keycontrol depends on Logitech G HUB for configuration and, depending on the binding and profile behavior, may require G HUB to remain running. Software layers can be less immediate and less tactile than dedicated keys, and switching between computers can introduce profile-management confusion. Current G HUB labels, onboard-memory behavior, and operating-system limitations should be checked against Logitech’s latest support documentation; the available launch-era material does not establish a complete 2026 software matrix.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Most importantly, Keycontrol does not turn the keyboard into a Hall-effect board. Remapping can reproduce an arrow key or macro, but it cannot provide adjustable actuation, analog movement, or rapid trigger.

What the Logitech does well

Convenient wireless connectivity

The G Pro X 60 supports LIGHTSPEED wireless, Bluetooth, and wired USB-C operation. Engadget reported reliable LIGHTSPEED performance during its testing, including no observed stuttering or wake-from-sleep problems. That is useful hands-on evidence, but it should not be treated as a guarantee for every wireless environment.

The three connection modes make the keyboard practical at a desktop, with a laptop, or while moving between systems. Logitech’s receiver ecosystem is another advantage if you already use a compatible wireless mouse.

Solid construction and good keycaps

The aluminum top plate, PBT keycaps, and low-flex construction give the board a more premium feel than many inexpensive compact keyboards. The keycaps should also resist the polished appearance that can develop on cheaper ABS caps over time, although keycap wear varies with use.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A genuinely useful carrying case

The hard case is more than a cosmetic extra. It protects the keyboard and provides a straightforward way to transport it to tournaments, LAN events, workspaces, or another room. Many compact keyboards are portable in theory but offer no similarly convenient protection.

Physical controls that compact boards often omit

The side-mounted volume roller is faster to use than an on-screen control or a Fn shortcut. The Game Mode switch can disable keys that are easy to hit accidentally—Windows and Fn by default—with additional customization available through G HUB.

Where the G Pro X 60 falls behind

No Hall-effect input

The Logitech uses GX Optical switches rather than magnetic Hall-effect switches. Hall-effect keyboards measure magnetic movement and can expose input settings such as adjustable actuation and rapid trigger. Optical switches detect actuation through light; they are not automatically inferior, but they do not provide those Hall-effect capabilities simply because they are optical.

No adjustable actuation

You cannot generally configure the key-registration point in the same way as on Hall-effect competitors. This matters most to competitive FPS players who want very short actuation settings or different actuation points for gaming and typing. It matters much less if you prefer conventional switch behavior and mainly want dependable wireless operation.

No rapid trigger

Rapid trigger dynamically resets a key based on its movement instead of waiting for it to return to a fixed reset point. That can be valuable for repeated directional inputs and fast strafing, but its benefit depends on the game, settings, and player. It is not a guaranteed route to better aim or faster play.

  • TRUE 8000 HZ HYPERPOLLING RATE — Gain a split-second advantage over opponents with a blistering polling rate 8 times faster than the industry standard to pull off every play without delay
  • QUICK ONBOARD ADJUSTMENTS — Make precise, on-the-fly adjustments to actuation height or Rapid Trigger sensitivity with the visual aid of an onboard LED array; save the settings to the keyboard with no software required
  • MULTI-FUNCTION DIGITAL DIAL AND DEDICATED CONTROL BUTTONS — Manage it all with a dedicated dial for volume and analog switch settings, backed by a trio of buttons for media control and custom macros

No hot-swappable switches

The switches are not designed to be conveniently pulled out and replaced. Replacing them generally requires soldering, which limits switch experimentation, repairability, and long-term customization. Replaceable keycaps are not the same thing as hot-swappable switches.

A less refined sound profile

Engadget found the reviewed linear version relatively loud and less damped than some similarly priced alternatives. Certain modifier and navigation keys were described as hollower. Sound is subjective and the review was not a standardized acoustic measurement, but office users should not assume that a premium price means a quiet typing experience.

How the main competitors compare

Wooting 60HE+: best for adjustable input and rapid trigger

The Wooting 60HE+ is the closest alternative for competitive FPS players who want a 60% footprint with Hall-effect magnetic sensing, adjustable actuation, and Rapid Trigger. Those features make it a stronger performance choice than the Logitech for buyers who intend to tune input behavior.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

It is not automatically better for everyone. Its appeal is concentrated around advanced input customization, while the Logitech offers a broader convenience package: three connection modes, Logitech peripheral integration, a carrying case, and familiar G HUB remapping. Check the Wooting store for current price, connectivity, and availability at the time of purchase: Wooting 60HE+.

Best for: Competitive FPS players who will use adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger.
Skip if: Wireless convenience and a Logitech receiver ecosystem matter more than magnetic input features.

SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless: a wireless performance alternative

The Apex Pro Mini Wireless targets much the same buyer as the Logitech: someone seeking a premium compact wireless gaming keyboard. Its OmniPoint technology adds adjustable actuation and related performance controls that the G Pro X 60 lacks.

The trade-off is a different software and peripheral ecosystem. Those features are worth paying for primarily if you will actually configure and use them. Confirm current firmware, exact wireless specifications, pricing, and availability on the official SteelSeries product page.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Best for: Players who want a compact wireless board with adjustable actuation.
Skip if: You prefer Logitech’s software, receiver integration, or included case and do not need actuation tuning.

Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini: performance first, not a direct wireless match

Razer’s Huntsman V3 Pro Mini belongs in this comparison because it is a compact, performance-oriented keyboard with adjustable-input features and rapid-trigger-style functionality. It is aimed more directly at competitive play than the Logitech.

Do not treat it as a wireless equivalent without checking the exact model’s connectivity. The official Razer page is the appropriate place to verify whether its current configuration meets your requirement for Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless.

ASUS ROG Azoth: better for enthusiasts who accept a larger board

The ROG Azoth is not a direct 60% competitor. It is a larger compact keyboard aimed at people who care about typing sound, feel, and physical customization as much as gaming.

Engadget positioned it as a better-sounding, more customizable option for keyboard enthusiasts. That is a review judgment, not a universal acoustic measurement. The Azoth makes more sense if you want an enthusiast-oriented desktop keyboard and can accept a larger footprint. See the official ASUS product page.

Best for: Typing feel, acoustics, and hardware experimentation.
Skip if: A true 60% layout and maximum mouse clearance are non-negotiable.

Cheaper wired and hot-swappable 60% boards

Not every buyer needs another premium $150–$200 keyboard. A cheaper wired 60% board can deliver the same basic footprint for substantially less, and many enthusiast models add hot-swappable switches.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

You may give up some combination of wireless polish, carrying-case protection, integrated controls, software quality, build consistency, and ecosystem integration. But if wireless is not essential and you want to experiment with switches, a lower-cost hot-swappable board may be the more rational purchase. Compare current prices and warranty terms rather than assuming the Logitech’s 2024 launch MSRP still reflects the market.

Optical versus Hall-effect: the distinction that matters

Optical and Hall-effect switches solve different problems. Optical switches detect a key’s actuation using light. Hall-effect switches use magnetic sensing and can measure movement in a way that enables adjustable actuation and rapid trigger.

That does not make optical switches universally worse. They may provide a familiar, consistent feel, and Logitech’s choice may be entirely adequate for ordinary gaming and typing. Conversely, Hall-effect does not automatically mean better acoustics, better typing feel, greater durability, or a visible advantage in every game. The meaningful question is whether you value configurable input behavior enough to choose it over Logitech’s wireless and ecosystem benefits.

Who should buy the Logitech G Pro X 60?

  • You specifically want a wireless 60% keyboard.
  • You already use Logitech G peripherals and want receiver or software integration.
  • You want LIGHTSPEED, Bluetooth, and wired USB-C in one board.
  • You value the included hard carrying case.
  • You prefer conventional optical-switch behavior over magnetic input tuning.
  • You want extensive remapping but do not need analog movement or Rapid Trigger.
  • You appreciate a physical volume roller and Game Mode switch.
  • You find it at a meaningful discount from its $179 launch price.

Who should skip it?

  • Competitive FPS players who specifically want adjustable actuation or Rapid Trigger.
  • Keyboard modders who expect hot-swappable switches.
  • Quiet-office users who are sensitive to the reviewed linear version’s louder, less-damped sound.
  • Budget buyers who do not need wireless or Logitech’s software ecosystem.
  • Productivity-heavy users who rely on dedicated arrows, navigation keys, or a function row.
  • Buyers seeking wireless Hall-effect input who have not verified the exact competitor’s connection modes and current availability.

Buying advice in 2026

The launch announcement and April 2024 review establish what the G Pro X 60 was, but they do not establish its current street price, production status, firmware, G HUB behavior, warranty terms, or the strongest competitors in September 2026.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Before buying, check Logitech’s official product page and support specifications. Confirm the current price, switch version, return policy, firmware notes, operating-system support, and whether the included receiver and case are present in the package you are ordering.

For battery life, “up to 65 hours” is Logitech’s maximum claim, not a guaranteed runtime. RGB brightness and usage affect the result; Engadget reported battery life broadly consistent with the claim in its launch review while noting the impact of lighting.

Final recommendation by scenario

  • Best wireless Logitech choice: G Pro X 60, especially if discounted and you value LIGHTSPEED, Bluetooth, the case, and G HUB.
  • Best for Rapid Trigger and adjustable actuation: Wooting 60HE+ or another current Hall-effect 60% model, after checking current availability and connectivity.
  • Best wireless performance alternative: SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless for buyers who will use its adjustable-actuation features.
  • Best Razer performance option: Huntsman V3 Pro Mini, provided its exact connectivity matches your needs.
  • Best enthusiast alternative: ASUS ROG Azoth or a similar larger board if sound, typing feel, and hardware customization matter more than a strict 60% footprint.
  • Best value option: A cheaper wired or hot-swappable 60% keyboard if wireless, the carrying case, and Logitech integration are not essential.

The G Pro X 60 is not a bad keyboard; its problem is positioning. It is well equipped for a compact wireless setup, but its premium pricing puts it beside keyboards with more advanced input technology and more enthusiast-friendly hardware. Choose it for convenience and polish—not because “optical” makes it automatically faster, or because a 60% layout is automatically better.
