How can I get a digital Nintendo Switch game through an official channel?
Nintendo’s purchase instructions describe buying downloadable software through Nintendo eShop with a Nintendo Account, with purchases tied to the account. What should I check when buying a physical Switch game?
A cartridge is an option if you want physical media instead of a digital download. Nintendo’s counterfeit guidance advises checking the product closely, including packaging and printing quality and the game’s region and language. It cautions about used games but does not certify any marketplace, seller, or specific listing.
- Confirm the exact game and that the listing is for a genuine Nintendo Switch cartridge.
- Check the seller and inspect packaging and printing details; do not treat a marketplace listing as verified merely because it is available for purchase.
- Check the game’s region and language, and confirm compatibility with your console and needs.
