LOUD–Paper Rex and NRG–T1 are scheduled Valorant Champions Shanghai playoff matches for Wednesday, October 7, 2026—not confirmed wins. Riot’s official schedule lists both as best-of-three fixtures without scores, so the headline’s claims that LOUD “stun” Paper Rex and NRG “outclass” T1 are not verified by the available match listings.
What is confirmed about the October 7 matches?
Riot’s official Champions schedule lists NRG versus T1 at 09:00 and Paper Rex versus LOUD at 12:00 on Wednesday, October 7. Both are playoff fixtures and best-of-three matches. The schedule does not show a score for either one. VLR.gg’s schedule also lists the matchups as upcoming upper-quarterfinal playoff matches.
Those listings confirm that the teams are scheduled to play; they do not establish either match’s result. No map scores, round totals, agent selections, player statistics, or match-performance account are confirmed by these sources. Until a reliable result listing is available, neither “LOUD stun Paper Rex” nor “NRG outclass T1” should be read as a verified result.
What is at stake at Champions Shanghai?
Riot describes Champions Shanghai as the event where the winner becomes the 2026 VALORANT World Champion. The tournament begins with 16 teams in four GSL groups. Group-stage matches are best of three, and the top two teams from each group advance to an eight-team, double-elimination playoff. Riot says playoff matches are best of three except for the lower final and grand final, which are best of five. These format details provide the stakes and structure, but do not indicate how the October 7 fixtures played out.
