Wizards of the Coast’s current product archive gives exact tabletop dates for all seven; digital launch dates, including MTG Arena dates, are separate.
What is the MTG release schedule for 2026?
These are the tabletop release dates listed in Wizards of the Coast’s official product archive. The archive categorizes three entries as set releases and four as Universes Beyond.
| Tabletop release date | Release | Theme or category |
|---|---|---|
| January 23, 2026 | Lorwyn Eclipsed | Set release |
| March 6, 2026 | Magic: The Gathering | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles | Universes Beyond |
| April 24, 2026 | Secrets of Strixhaven | Set release |
| June 26, 2026 | Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes | Universes Beyond |
| August 14, 2026 | Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit | Universes Beyond |
| October 2, 2026 | Reality Fracture | Set release |
| November 13, 2026 | Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek | Universes Beyond |
Which 2026 Magic releases are Universes Beyond?
Wizards lists four crossover releases in its Universes Beyond section: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Marvel Super Heroes, The Hobbit, and Star Trek. The other three entries are listed as set releases. These categories identify how Wizards classifies the products, not their format legality or playability.
Are these MTG Arena release dates?
No. The dates in the table are tabletop dates from Wizards’ product archive; they should not be read as MTG Arena launch dates. Digital availability can differ from tabletop timing. For example, a surfaced Arena result indicated an August 11 date for The Hobbit, but that date is not established by the tabletop archive cited here, so confirm it against an Arena-specific announcement before relying on it.

Why are there seven Magic sets in 2026?
Wizards announced the seven-title slate on September 26, 2025, calling it a scheduling quirk and saying it expected to return to six sets in 2027. That was a forward-looking plan, not a guarantee that later schedules could not change. The original announcement gave January 23 for Lorwyn Eclipsed and month-only timing for most of the remaining titles; the current archive now supplies exact dates for all seven. See Wizards’ 2026 announcement for the original slate and explanation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How current are these dates?
The schedule reflects Wizards’ official product archive as of October 8, 2026. That date matters because releases scheduled earlier in the year have already passed; Wizards’ current homepage also showed Reality Fracture as a current product and The Hobbit as available everywhere. Release dates and regional availability can change, so consult the archive for the latest listing before planning around a future release.
