The tabletop set released June 26, 2026, with products for learning, drafting, Commander play and collecting.
What is Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes?
It is the next set in Wizards of the Coast’s Magic and Marvel collaboration. Wizards describes it as drawing on characters from across the Marvel Universe, from superhero teams to villains. The announcement does not say that the set contains a new, original narrative, so that part of the headline remains unverified. Wizards’ 2026 announcement presents the set and its characters, not a story synopsis.

The collaboration’s broader plan offers context, but not proof of a new plot. In a September 2025 account, Magic designer Mark Rosewater said randomized booster sets would focus on Marvel comics, alongside other products such as Secret Lair drops. His explanation of the deal and the earlier Spider-Man set does not establish that Marvel Super Heroes has an original story. Rosewater’s account of the collaboration describes its structure and comic-book focus.

Booster contents are randomized, so buying a pack is not a way to guarantee a particular character or treatment.

Which formats are the cards legal in?
Legality depends on the product grouping and the individual card. Wizards’ guide says the main set is legal in all formats. The commander and source-material sets it identifies as Eternal-legal are legal in Commander, Legacy and Vintage. Individual cards may also be legal in other formats where those cards were already available.

Is Marvel Super Heroes coming to MTG Arena?
Yes. Wizards announced on May 19, 2026 that Marvel Super Heroes, along with past and future Marvel sets, would come to MTG Arena. That later announcement updates the April 2025 statement that Spider-Man and future Marvel sets would not come to Arena or Magic Online. The Arena update does not confirm availability on Magic Online, so the two digital platforms should not be treated as interchangeable.
Read the announcements in date order: Wizards’ April 21, 2025 digital update and its May 19, 2026 Arena announcement.
