Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro revealed five Marvel-themed Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair drops at New York Comic Con on October 18, 2024. The drops—Captain America, Black Panther, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Storm—went on sale November 4, 2024. This is the original 2024 Secret Lair release, not the separate Marvel Super Heroes tabletop set scheduled for 2026.
Which Marvel characters were in the 2024 Magic Secret Lair?
The reveal named five individual drops, each built around a Marvel character:
- Captain America
- Black Panther
- Iron Man
- Wolverine
- Storm
Hasbro described the Superdrop as Magic’s first cards based on Marvel characters and stories. Hasbro’s October 18, 2024 announcement lists the five drops and their November 4 sale date.
What cards and format legality did each drop include?
Wizards said each drop included one legendary creature card that was new to Magic. The named versions were Black Panther, Wakandan King; Captain America, First Avenger; Iron Man, Titan of Innovation; Storm, Force of Nature; and Wolverine, Best There Is.

For sale is the exclusive secret lair drop: Secret Lair x Marvel's Deadpool (Non-Foil Edition)
- Well look who it is! Come in, come in. Don’t mind the robe. “Uncle Deadpool” is just crashing at Secret Lair for a few days. I’m actually doing a little tour of lairs, hideouts, sanctums, and strongholds and leaving ratings online. It’s been a blast.
- But I wasn’t expecting guests. Just, uh, kick back, relax, and . . . don’t sit on my red suit! It’s drying out. But check this out—Secret Lair made me my own Deadpool cards! Isn’t that nice? So pretty. This one even says, “trading card,” so you don’t forget. Anyway, make yourself comfortable and if you need anything, I’ll be in the kitchen making chimichangas.
- Contents: 1x Deadpool, Trading Card, 1x Deadly Rollick, 1x Saw in Half, 1x Blasphemous Act, 1x Vandalblast
Those new cards are legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage. Reprints in the drops retain the format legality they already had; a Secret Lair printing does not make a reprint legal in formats where that card was not legal. Wizards’ Marvel Superdrop page provides the product and legality details.
When did the Marvel Secret Lair drops go on sale, and what did they cost?
The drops went on sale November 4, 2024. Hasbro described them as limited print and reported launch prices of $39.99 USD for a non-foil drop and $49.99 USD for a foil drop. Those are historical launch prices, not a statement of current shop availability or resale value. Current stock and marketplace prices are not established by the announcement.

How is the 2024 Secret Lair different from Marvel Super Heroes?
The Secret Lair Superdrop was a group of five character-focused drops. Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes is a distinct tabletop set, with a release date of June 26, 2026. Wizards says the set includes source-material versions of legendary creatures from the Marvel Superdrop, alongside separate products such as Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Commander decks, and Scene Boxes. Wizards’ set page lists the product range and release information.
Another separate release, Secret Lair x Marvel: Spinner Rack Specials, presented five cards from the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes set in Annie Wu’s vintage-comics style. Wizards said limited quantities of foil versions were available at MagicCon: Amsterdam from July 17–19, 2026; that event window has passed. It was not a restock or alternate name for the 2024 five-drop Superdrop. See Wizards’ Spinner Rack Specials announcement.
