Magnetite Dice are a yellow tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong. The community-maintained Hollow Knight Wiki describes them as luck-bringing playthings and reports that they can sometimes block damage, alongside effects tied to critical hits and item drops. The depicted set consists of a D4, D8, and unusual D14—not ordinary six-sided dice.
What are Magnetite Dice?
The Hollow Knight Wiki transcribes the item description as: “Playthings carved from magnetic material. Used in simple games and believed to bring luck to the bearer.” That is the game’s flavor text as recorded by the community wiki; it does not establish that the fictional dice are made from the real mineral magnetite.

In gameplay, the wiki reports that the tool can block a hit from an enemy or moving hazard and also provides luck-related bonuses. Treat those details as community-wiki reporting: no official developer source or independent verification for the mechanics is established here.
What effects do they have?
Chance to block damage
The wiki says the dice can block one hit of damage from an enemy or moving hazard, with stationary hazards and certain specified special attacks excluded. Its reported chance starts at zero after a block, then rises by 2.02 percentage points per hit to a maximum of 10.1%. The page also reports an average block chance of 7.7878%. These are figures reported by the community wiki, not guarantees of what will happen in a particular encounter.

The same wiki reports that the tool increases the Wanderer Crest’s critical-hit chance and the drop rate of Silver Bells. It does not establish these effects as official developer-confirmed mechanics.

The unusual D14 is the best search term if you are looking for a real die with a similar shape. A general polyhedral-dice assortment may help find a D4 and D8 as well, but these would be shape analogues, not confirmed replicas or official merchandise.

The mineral
Magnetite is a real iron oxide mineral with the formula Fe3O4. Geology.com describes it as strongly magnetic, black to silvery gray, with a black streak, Mohs hardness of 5–6.5, and specific gravity of 5.2. Naturally magnetized magnetite is known as lodestone. These mineral properties explain the item’s magnetic theme, but they do not prove that the in-game dice use natural magnetite. See Geology.com’s magnetite and lodestone reference.

Physical products and lookalikes
Physical magnetic resin dice and educational magnetite specimens are available in the cited listings, but neither is an official Silksong Magnetite Dice replica. Gate Keeper Games & Dice describes its Magnet Dice as handmade resin containing N52 neodymium magnets; the listing does not say they are made from magnetite or shaped like the game’s D4/D8/D14 set: Gate Keeper Games & Dice: Magnet Dice.
