The current RTX 5090 product listing describes a different configuration, including a 240Hz screen and a newer processor. Those specifications should not be conflated: the 200Hz figure belongs to the launch announcement, not every current Ultima 18 SKU.

Does the MAINGEAR Ultima 18 have an RTX 5090?
Yes. MAINGEAR’s launch release described the Ultima 18 as available with up to an RTX 5090 Mobile GPU with 24GB of GDDR7 memory. Its current RTX 5090 listing specifies that GPU at 175W TGP. That is a laptop GPU configuration, not a desktop RTX 5090, and the 175W figure is the product page’s stated TGP rather than an independent power or performance measurement.

Is the Ultima 18 4K 200Hz?
That description matches the 2025 launch announcement: an 18-inch 3840×2400, 200Hz G-SYNC panel. The current RTX 5090 listing instead specifies a 3840×2400, 240Hz G-SYNC panel. MAINGEAR’s collection page mixes launch-era 200Hz/275HX details with current 240Hz/290HX Plus information, so check the selected SKU’s screen and processor on the listing rather than assuming one specification applies to the whole product family: Ultima 18 collection.
A 200Hz or 240Hz refresh rate describes how often the display can refresh; it does not mean a game will run at that frame rate. No independent game benchmarks or thermal tests are established here, so the specifications alone do not show what frame rates the laptop sustains in particular games.

What the specifications do—and do not—tell you
The launch release calls the Ultima 18 a “full-featured desktop replacement”; that is MAINGEAR’s promotional description. Its published specifications establish a large high-resolution, high-refresh display, high-end mobile graphics option, and broad connectivity, but they do not establish independent gaming performance, sustained thermals, fan noise, or actual battery runtime. The 98Wh figure is battery capacity, not a runtime estimate.

If comparing it with another large gaming laptop, match the exact mobile GPU and TGP, processor, panel resolution and refresh rate, memory and storage configuration, ports, weight, battery capacity, warranty, and price for equivalent builds. A meaningful performance ranking also requires comparable independent benchmarks; a shared RTX 5090 label by itself does not settle the comparison.
