It is listed as appearing from Hard difficulty onward, including in Bot Drops, Fabricators, patrols, and guarded points of interest. These enemy details can change with patches, so treat them as reference guidance rather than fixed specifications.

How does a Marauder attack?
When it has line of sight, the Marauder fires its fusion weapon in five-round bursts, then pauses to cool down. The wiki uses both “Fusion SMG” and “fusion rifle” in its descriptions, so “fusion weapon” avoids implying a settled weapon name. It can also throw an explosive grenade at a Helldiver behind cover, so cover limits exposure to its gunfire but does not make you safe from every attack.
At close range, it may back away or punch. Like other light Automatons, it can also begin launching a flare to summon a Bot Drop; the wiki says interrupting the launch prevents the call-in. Suppression is described as making its aim less accurate, though this is community-reference tactical guidance, not official developer guidance.

How do you kill a Marauder?
- Break line of sight. Use cover to avoid sustained exposure to its bursts, and be ready to move if it throws a grenade toward your position.
- Take the headshot when it is visible. The wiki identifies the head as unarmored and says headshots reliably one-shot light Automatons. Treat that as general reference guidance, not a guarantee for every weapon, angle, or patch.
- Use a grenade if a shot is not practical. The same reference says grenades reliably one-shot light Automatons; use one when it is safe and appropriate for your position.
- Interrupt the flare if preventing a Bot Drop matters. Prioritize the Marauder as it starts its flare launch; the wiki says stopping the launch prevents the call-in.
The page’s listed health and damage values are patch-sensitive and are not needed for this practical counter. Its change history records an April 28, 2026 adjustment to durable damage for melee and fusion-SMG attacks, followed by an undocumented change dated June 16, 2026; no official patch confirmation for current Marauder values is established here.
