Mario Tennis Fever is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive that launched on February 12, 2026. Its familiar tennis shots are joined by Fever Rackets that give charged Fever Shots special effects, a 38-character roster, and several modes—including Adventure, the story-driven mode Nintendo describes as a tale of Mario and friends transformed into babies.
What is Mario Tennis Fever?
Mario Tennis Fever is a tennis game published by Nintendo and developed by Camelot for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo lists a physical game edition, and its availability notice dated February 12, 2026 says the game is available. Nintendo’s game listing and availability announcement provide the platform, release, and product details.
How do Fever Rackets and Fever Shots work?
During rallies, players build a Fever Gauge. When it is charged, they can release a Fever Shot; the equipped Fever Racket determines the shot’s special effect. Nintendo lists 30 Fever Rackets and gives examples such as ice that makes the court slippery, shrinking an opponent, or creating a duplicate. These are Nintendo’s descriptions of the mechanics, not claims about how balanced or effective each racket is in play. Nintendo’s product page and its announcement describe the system.
The special effects sit alongside familiar tennis shots: topspins, slices, and lobs. Nintendo also describes defensive movement such as sliding footwork and other defensive maneuvers. Players who want a more traditional match can choose rules without Fever Rackets; those who want the added effects can use the racket system. Nintendo lists both options, but does not provide comparative performance or balance findings.

- Defensive: centered on defense.
- Powerful: centered on power.

- Technical: centered on technical play.
