What is Marvel Cosmic Invasion?
It is an action beat ’em up built around fighting through the Annihilation Wave. Dotemu describes the presentation as full-color pixel art, with a playable roster of 15 Marvel heroes. The hook is familiar to fans of side-scrolling arcade brawlers, but the game has its own roster and team-switching system rather than simply repeating Shredder’s Revenge.
How does the Cosmic Swap system work?
For each level, choose two heroes and switch between them instantly. The pairing lets players chain attacks into combos and use powerful special attacks, so the choice of duo shapes how a run feels. Dotemu calls this feature Cosmic Swap; it is a tag-team system, not a requirement to play with another person.
Is it like TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge?
There is a concrete connection: Tribute Games, based in Montréal, Canada, developed both games, and Dotemu published both. That makes Marvel Cosmic Invasion a natural fit for players who enjoyed the team’s earlier side-scrolling brawler. The shared creators do not make the games identical: this Marvel game has a 15-hero roster, Cosmic Swap, and its own story centered on Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave.

Does Marvel Cosmic Invasion have local co-op and online multiplayer?
Yes. The official feature descriptions list both local and online multiplayer, with adaptive drop-in/drop-out play. PlayStation’s US store listing specifies one to four players and up to four online players, with PS Plus required for online play. It also marks online play as optional, so that listing does not require an online session to play.
Which platforms is Marvel Cosmic Invasion on?
Dotemu lists Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. The publisher uses the broad label “Xbox”; check the relevant regional storefront for the specific Xbox console and local availability. The listed release date is December 1, 2025.

What physical editions were announced?
Dotemu announced physical Standard and Deluxe editions for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5, with worldwide distribution outside Asia. The announcement gave March 13, 2026 as the launch date. These are announcement details, not confirmation of current stock or retailer pricing.
