Marvel Cosmic Invasion was announced on March 27, 2025 for release later that year. That window is now history: Dotemu set the launch for December 1, 2025, and announced on launch day that the game was available. Here’s what the game is, where you can play it, and what’s known about its heroes and multiplayer.
What is Marvel Cosmic Invasion?
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an arcade-style, side-scrolling beat ’em up announced by Dotemu in collaboration with Marvel Games. Tribute Games developed it. Its colorful, comic-inspired battles pit Marvel heroes against Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave, with settings including New York City and the Negative Zone. Dotemu’s announcement introduced Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Storm, Phyla-Vell, Venom and Nova.
How Cosmic Swap works
For each level, players choose two heroes and can switch between them instantly using the Cosmic Swap system. The idea is to combine characters with different abilities during a fight rather than commit to just one hero. Dotemu’s gameplay trailer announcement describes the two-hero system and the battle against the Annihilation Wave.
When did Marvel Cosmic Invasion come out?
Marvel Cosmic Invasion launched on December 1, 2025. The March announcement had only said “later this year”; Dotemu confirmed the specific date on October 22, then published a launch notice on December 1 stating that the game was available. Dotemu’s release-date announcement and its launch notice document those updates.

What platforms is Marvel Cosmic Invasion on?
Dotemu’s launch notice lists the game as available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. Nintendo’s US Switch 2 listing also gives December 1, 2025 as the release date. Check the relevant store for current availability and regional details.
Can you play Marvel Cosmic Invasion co-op?
Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing describes local and online play for one to four players, with drop-in/drop-out support. That is the platform-store description; players should check the listing for their chosen platform for its specific multiplayer details.

What physical editions were announced?
Dotemu announced physical Standard and Deluxe editions for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, with a March 13, 2026 release and worldwide distribution outside Asia. The announcement listed these edition contents and prices:

Is the game on Game Pass, and what does it cost?
At launch, Dotemu stated that the game was available through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and listed a $29.99 digital price.
