Phoenix and Iron Man were the final heroes announced for Marvel Cosmic Invasion’s original launch roster. The game launched on December 1, 2025, so it is no longer an upcoming release. Since launch, The Thing and Cyclops have joined as DLC characters.
Who were the final heroes revealed for Marvel Cosmic Invasion?
Phoenix and Invincible Iron Man completed the game’s original 15-character roster, according to Marvel Entertainment’s release-date announcement. The official Nintendo listing uses the names Phoenix and Iron Man.
The original launch roster is:
- Spider-Man
- Wolverine
- She-Hulk
- Captain America
- Phoenix
- Black Panther
- Storm
- Iron Man
- Rocket Raccoon
- Beta Ray Bill
- Venom
- Cosmic Ghost Rider
- Nova
- Phyla-Vell
- Silver Surfer
Nintendo groups eight of the characters as Earth-associated heroes and seven as galactic heroes. That original roster is distinct from the post-launch additions.
When did Marvel Cosmic Invasion come out?
Steam’s English-language store listing gives the release date as December 1, 2025. The game is developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu and Gamirror Games, according to that listing. The date is no longer a future release announcement.

Which heroes were added after launch?
The Thing and Cyclops joined the game as DLC on May 18, 2026, according to the official Steam announcements. They are additions to—not members of—the original 15-character launch roster.
Dotemu’s official press kit also lists a second DLC, The Siege of Castle Doom, as coming in fall. The listing provides no precise date or additional hero roster, so neither should be inferred from the announcement.

What kind of game is it?
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an action beat ’em up starring Marvel heroes against the Annihilation Wave, with battles spanning locations from New York City to the Negative Zone. The official page frames the threat through Annihilus, whose character line is: “The cosmos must fall so that I might live!!”
Cosmic Swap and co-op
Its Cosmic Swap system lets you choose two heroes for a level and switch between them instantly, combining their attacks into combos and special moves. Heroes differ in movement and fighting approach: some fly while others stay grounded, and their toolkits may emphasize ranged attacks, grapples, dodges, or blocking and parrying.
